As of june of last year I had this dish and it's been nothing but trouble. I had someone to come and check it out three time and each one told me whoever put it up there on my apartment building shouldn't. Even when the weather is good I don't have anything.

I haven't had local channel since two month after they put it in not to talk about the package I wanted. My credit wasn't good enough but now I tried to cancel and they tell me they are giving me that department and they always hang up on me. I don't want them to tell me anything more. Just want to cancel. I bought some rabbit ears and local is fine.

Last May, I signed up to receive local channels and they barely come in. I've had a service guy come out a few times, and the last guy finally admitted that it shouldn't have be installed where there...we have no clear site for the locals, so there isn't much we can do. When I tried to cancel the local package, they told me I had signed a contract and couldn't cancel until May 2005. So, I'm stuck. Also, for those of you who upgrade to an HD receiver and have a low signal for locals, forget it. They won't come in AT ALL. We finally signed up for basic cable just to make sure we can get locals...so we have to pay an additional $14.34 per month. Last thing...when we got the HD receiver and activated it, we were told that a box would be sent for the old receiver. Well, of course, they didn't send one. So, a few weeks later, I contacted them about this and they finally sent one. I mailed it off within the allotted time, but they charged me $100 anyway. I noticed it on my bill online, and it showed a credit card charge too. When I called them about it, the CSR didn't see the CC#, so he thought it was a mistake and told me not to worry about it. I wouldn't be charged. Well, the next month it shows up on the bill of the credit card that I had to give them to sign up. I never used that card to pay my bill, and we were never late with a payment. They should have added it to my bill. When I asked them about it, they told me it was automatically charged by their computer system and they can't see the CC# anyway. They are supposedly crediting me, but it hasn't show up yet. I am sooo PISSED!!! I'd like to cancel next month, but just purchased the HD receiver and don't want $245 to go to waste. I have a whole other story about the dealer that installed this system. You wouldn't believe what they are willing to do to get you to sign up thru them. I won't get into that though. Good luck Magnolia. You should be able to cancel in June and get out of the contract free and clear. Then I'd switch to cable. At least that doesn't go out every time it rains!!!
