Thanks for the heads up regarding my contract. I contacted Dish and my contract has not been extended as you said. As a matter of fact... according to them I can cancel at any time without penalty because I have fulfilled my obligation (3 years). However, I have no intention of giving them up as I find them to be much more reliable than our local cable provider whom I have friends that constantly complain about.

Scott, you may want to review your contract with Dish Network. They probably extended it for another year without you knowing it. They were very good to us too, until we moved and needed help pointing the dish. They wanted another $200 plus a year extension on our contract for me to get local channels. It all boils down to one thing MONEY MONEY MONEY... NEED I SAY MORE??? Just wait, your day WILL come when you need to deal with them. Maybe then you'll understand.

I'm so sorry to hear about your poor experience with Dish Network. I have now had them for 3 years and I can say I have been very pleased with their service. I did have a problem with one of my receivers and I called them for support. They answered within 5 minutes and were curteous and prompt. Most recently I upgraded one of my receivers to a DVR receiver and it worked wonderfully. When I went to send the old receiver back I noticed there was no pre-paid label. I called them again and spoke to a woman named Pam who apologized no more than 6 times to me and said she would send another one out immediately. She also marked in my account that I should not be charged since the receiver would not be back within 10 days (which by the way I was told this when I upgraded the receiver). All in all I have been very happy with their product and service. While again I am sorry that you has so many problems with them I am sure it doesn't happen to everyone.

After enjoying the thought of participating in a class-action lawsuit against Dish Network last night, getting 3 hours of sleep and stressing out all morning I checked with my bank. Dish Network Finally made the deposit back to my account for the equipment charges. I will still however be more that willing to participate as they still refuse to refund the almost $400 in NSF fees that I incurred as a result of this mess. So basically, I'm still screwed. Would like to hear from more people, maybe a good attorney or two about any legal rights us X customers have. Good luck folks, stay persistent!
