Problem #1- The commerical for DishNetwork advertises free HD for life.  I agreed to a 2 year contract to get the "Free" service. Unfortunately, the service covers very few channels. In fact, the programming guide  does not tell you which HD channels are available. When I turned to an HD channel that was not included in the package, I would get an error message and I was unable to turn away from the error message for up to an hour. I soon called and told Customer Service that I did not want the HD package because It was too troublesome. She immediately disconnected the service and THEN informed me that I was obligated to keep Dish Network. The representative did not bother to tell me before cancelling the service that I would be charged $240.00 cancellation fee. My contract was only a few months from completion. Now I am stuck for another 2 years even though the "FREE" HD Service had glitches.



I asked to speak to a supervisor and was placed on eternal hold. The Rude Representative told me that I should have used tech support to complain about the problem. Then after a few calls-if the problem was not fixed they would cancel without the cancellation fee. So for a week of HD service that did not work- I have to pay $240.00 to cancel Or Stick it out with DishNetwork and wait to be ripped off again.



Problem #2- FEES FEES FEES! Our $54.00 Base Rate with NO MOVIE CHANNELS and without using pay per view -Plus Redzone for $5.99 per month somehow totals nearly $90.00 per month. WARNING!!!! Dish has changed their fee for not hooking your tv up to a phoneline. It used to be $1.00 per month. Nowit is $5.00.



Problem #3- REDZONE- since it refers to Football, you might assume that it is only for Football season. It is not. The redzone channel will stop working-but you will continue to pay for it in the off season-IF you do not cancel it. Programming Change Fee $5.00.  There is no true Football package with DishNetwork, but for all day sunday and monday night-we have no choice but to use REDZONE.



Nothing is free with DishNetwork. There are hidden fees everywhere you turn. Read your bills carefully or you will pay through the nose.

Hello, my name is Becki Barned and I'm with Dish Network customer service. I read your post, and I am sorry for the problems that you have had. The HD free for life promotion does include the channels in hd that are in your package. The error messages that you were viewing may have been a technical issue. If you do still have the HD package, and are not able to see the channels you should be able to view, you can try resetting your receiver box (Unplugging for 10 seconds). This, in most cases, will fix your technical problems. The package that you are receiving the Redzone channel in, not only includes the RedZone channel, but other great channels as well, such as the NFL channel, the NHL channel, NBA channel, and much more.
