By allowing your sister to use your creidt card, she authorized it to be used if the contract was broke. This has happened thousands of times. The only thing you can do is fight it with your bank. Good luck.

It's a good deal for the company. They get paid. And a good deal for the relative, who doesn't get disconnected, incur a late charge or (assuming they have the money at all) pay a high fee to Western Union etc. What DISH doesn't understand (this is not the first time such an incident has been reported) is that THIS DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE THIRD PARTY TO PAY ANY FUTURE BILLS. About all you can do now is charge it back at your bank (don't bother calling DISH, as they've made their policy clear on this) and bury them in bank fees.

I don't understand how and why anyone would put someone else's bill in their own name? Like buying a cell phone for your boyfriend/girlfriend? or Leasing a car...or renting an apartment...or whatever you name it You are essentially the co-signer on the contract and since you were the only one to provide financial info, of course they went after you for the money. Now, your beef lies with your sister...not with Dish, which you wholeheartedly agreed to finance when you gave them YOUR financial info. Tell your sister to send back the equiment, to refund you your $349.

Contact Dish Network and tell them that they need to send a copy of the contract with YOUR signature for the amount they took from your account. Assuming that you did not sign anything that would give this company the right to go after your bank account - In the meantime, contact your bank and tell them that the money was obtained fraudently by Dish Network and fill out a fraud report. Make sure you get a copy to the local District Attorney and the Attorney General's offices in Ohio and in Colorado. Then call your sister and tell her you will NOT be helping her get anything else...until she learns to be responsible. You might also wish to file a report online with the FTC. Good luck.
