Your story was incredibly believable until you said that your tech said a "Dish Contractor" came and piggybacked a cable. How would your tech know that in a miracle second? Also, maybe you don't know your neighbors as well as you think you do and they used you for television? Dish probably does not have time or manpower to come out and wire to neighbor's houses. You may want to check from time to time and make sure that your electricity and water are also not being used by your neighbor. This could get expensive for you.

ive heard it all. ive had cable customer, dish network and directv customers calling up mad. telling me they hate their peticular service. then others telling me they would never switch . they're happy with what they got. i had one customer call. i didnt even install his equipment.went out fix one problem and the other i couldnt do anything for. reason being the installer ran a cable to his office to install a receiver. i couldnt find the wire. then i realized that the installer took the cable company's cable from the pedestal and used it. then trenched a line 30 feet from the pedestal to the office in his house. i informed the customer of this. told him it was illegal to break into the cable company's box. his best plan of attack was to call dish network and tell them about this. i also sent dish network an email. turned out this guy was a lawyer. but never knew what happened. compared to a dish network or directv dealer. theses installers dont make anything. alot of times they are required to provided the materials for installation. i even had a friend who was a cable installer. he had to provide his own truck, tools . they gave him cable and components for the install. he got paid 7.00 to connect or unconnect a cable and 14.00 to run a wire around the house or thru the attic. he worked them about 8 months then quit. directv requires their installers to pay 75.00 for a training class once a year. find you a local dealer who is willing to help you and you dont mind paying to get it done right. since you filed a complaint on this site. you just might look up your local cable to find out how they are doing. after 25 year in the satellite business . i still make mistakes. but always try to take care of my customers. i went out recently to a customer . who i had installed dec 2008. when i got done she asked me how much do i owe you . i said nothing. dish requires me to give you a 6 month installation warranty. but i gave you a 1 year warranty when i installed you system. when i got done with the install originally she could watch her dual tuner tv1 and tv2 . on any tv in the house and also listen to the xm satellite radio on any tv. when i left this last time i installed her dvd player so she could watch it on any tv in the house.so now she can go to any tv watch tv1 ,tv2,dvd player, listen to xm radio and her local tv antenna on every tv in the house.
