Rich Ridenour Hello Rich, I am a design consultant for the company. Just wanted to clarify our position in the matter of your requests for full refund Our contract clearly states above the signature line – you have three days ( Saturdays included) to cancel at anytime with no penalties. Not months. Days. The reason that we keep a percentage of your deposit is to pay for work that is in progress. Such as office fees, permitting processes, engineering drawings, etc. Also I wanted to confirm that the other company did the work in 5 days? (pulled a permit, trenched a footer + removed grass, ordered/poured concrete, installed electrical with inspections and added a screen room) All within one work week? That's very fast and must have been amazing to see Please contact the office with any questions you may have Thank you Distinct Design Inc.

This report is nothing but slander, name dropping and lies. It fails to mention we won the case and the project was fully furnished and used. It can be found online on a realty website. If anyone would like more information about this project or court case please contact our Ormond Beach office Thank You Distinct Design Inc.

My wife and I also contracted Distinct Design, Inc. to build a cement extension to our porch, add screen and electric for spa. Mike Canaday was the sales rep and really wanted our job and seemed very informative/knowledgable. Mike works on commission. Engaging with this company was a nightmare for us too!
We we're a bit uncomfortable with the opened ended schedule for completion of jobs in Distinct Design's contract. The way they state a typical sun room construction it gives them up to 32 weeks to complete. Mike suggested they do the job in 4 weeks (because just a screen room) and we thought that fair and added that to the agreement: "4 weeks job completion. 2 weeks electric installed." We shook hands and Mike gave us confidence all would get done.
Well, nothing happened in 4 weeks. Ed Arroyo did come out to look at our area but completely forgot permit papers. Around week 3 permit papers arrived at our house and we returned express mail. During this time we were calling and sending emails without response from Distinct Design to ask where are the workers. We thought we were scammed. Finally when I said I'd like to break the agreement in an email we got some attention. Then we learned that permits weren't even filed. We were very upset since we had tile workers flying in the following week and had taken scheduled time off from work to lay tile and do finishing work ourselves.
We lost all trust and contracted another company (that infact under bid Distinct Design), Advantage Enterprises in Jacksonville where we live and they did the work in 5 days. We canceled the contract with Distinct Design and they have been very slow and stubborn to return our money for a job they failed to honor. We have since taken them to small claims because they returned $2097 of our deposit of $4625 deposit. For a failed agreement we think this an injustice. Ed Arroyo knows every trick in the book to deter the case from going to trial which includes avoiding summons with the sheriff. Recently Ed and Mike had a chance to testify their case in Jacksonville but requested change of venue.
Distinct Design is not customer friendly and have a contract that protects only themselves. They will tell you what they can deliver but then fail and then lie about what was promised in court of law. Consumers beware.
