Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This guy sold me a 1997 Saturn SL2 for $2200. When I told Donald that I wanted to have the car inspected by my mechanic he was very pushy and made me feel like if I didn't buy the car that day he was going to sell it to this other guy at 7am the next morning.

He insisted that there was Nothing wrong with the car and it had been well maintained. He told me it had 4 new tires, new brakes, and a working a/c. Turns out he lied. The tires are not new, one has a bubble in it, the brakes are almost gone and the a/c does not work.

The car ran good for a few days but about a week after I bought it it died. I tried to start it and it would not start. I had a mechanic look at it and all the wires that connect from the starter to the engine to the transmission had burned out. I was without the car for a week before it was fixed. Next I realized that the headlights, hazard lights, and turn signals were not working. I had to have the whole turn switch compartment replaced.

The cars dash board lights still do not work and the a/c went out on me 3 times before finally it was fixed. I had to pull up the back seat to retreave a seatbelt and it looked like the car had been set on fire and sprayed with water. there is mold growing in the seats from water damage. He placed mats over interior damage and once they were removed I could tell this car has either been in a flood or had some sort of fire.

This car has been nothing but problems for me. I have only owned it a few months and everytime I get in I wonder whats going to go next.

This guy knows I am a single mom with little income and he still sold me a car that is full of problems. Donald Webb is a scam artist and needs to be punished!

I agree with Armando Any time a used car dealer pushes you

#2Consumer Comment

Jaime, I am sorry that you were taken by an unscrupious used car dealer. I agree with the comments made by Armando. Just a couple extra points, however. When a dealer says things like I have another party very interested and/or will sell it tomorrow morning, etc. Ask yourself why they didn't buy it at the time they saw the car. Also, if you cannot reach an agreement TO YOUR LIKING, walk away. There are too many used cars on the market for you to be compelled to purchase the first one you see. Take your time and maintain control over the sales situation. You are never obligated until you sign on the bottom line. The dealer wants you to sign as quickly as possible so you can't find that better deal. If you really like a car that much, still walk away if you can't reach an agreement. You will probably be called the next day with a dealer more willing to accept your offer. Any time a used car dealer pushes you to purchase before you have an opportunity to get an outside mechanic to inspect it, then you know he is trying to hide something. In your case, hidden water damage and mold. Remember it is your money, and you have the final say on a purchase. I would suggest you go to a more reputable dealer time, assuming money are credit are not a problem. Finally, I am a bit puzzled about a couple of your statements. You said the dealer said 4 new tires were on the car, new brakes and the a/c was working. I can understand you not knowing about worn brakes, but you should have been able to see the tires were not new, and felt that the a/c was not working properly on your first inspection of the car.

"Sense of Urgency" ploy please be wary of ANYONE, especially salesmen

#3Consumer Suggestion

Wed, June 15, 2005

Jaime, I'm sorry to hear you got ripped off on your car purchase. In the future, please be wary of ANYONE, especially salesmen, who tries to pressure you into buying something on the spot by trying to instill a sense of urgency. In your case, the seller made you believe he had another interested buyer all lined up in order to get you to buy the car right away. If you ever hear the words.."Well, there was a couple looking at this morning and they are very interested" or "Today is the last day its on sale and it goes back to regular price tomorrow", just do yourself a favor and walk away.
