Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
The bastards at "Downtown Chinatown" sold me a used or refurbished TV as a new TV. I found this out very shortly after I got it home. While I was undoing the staples to get the flaps of the box opened, I saw holes where previous staplings had been made.

That immediately set off alarm bells in my head telling me that I wasn't its first owner. Upon opening the box, I saw that one of the foam blocks had been broken into three pieces. A new package that somehow had a large, strong foam block broken into three pieces? I don't think so. And to top it off, the TV had defects on the screen, which really didn't surprise me at all. So I paid for a new TV, but what I received was a used/refurbished TV that also had defects.

I called the frauds telling them I wanted to exchange the TV, but they said they only do that with unopened merchandise (okay...) and told me to deal with the manufacturers about the defects. Needless to say, I wasn't going to get any satisfaction dealing with them.

I am normally a very peaceful person, but I had never so wanted to firebomb and totally annihilate an establishment. The sight of that store going down in flames would give me more pleasure than an orgasm. These scumbags deserve a first class ticket to hell and be bitten by armies of fire ants for all of eternity.

Having calmed down and after examining the box further, I found out that the recipient on the shipping label had the name "Downtown Audio Video", not "Downtown Chinatown", the store where I made my purchase. Some more funny stuff going on... I wouldn't be surprised at all if the company was forcefully shut down and simply opened under a new name.

As for the store itself, it is a tiny place operated by Arabs (despite its name) with barely enough room to service more than two customers. So if you happen to be in NYC's Chinatown area and are shopping for electronics, be incredibly wary of any stores resembling these characteristics.
