After just longer than 17 years working in Kitsap and Edmonds I heard about "DSC Industrial Supply" only to find that they are just flat out mean, over-priced, and disrespectful. I was in the market for a pea shooter (you might know them with a different name) and started walking through their shop.

They had not one but two people follow me everywhere standing right next to me and getting in my way the entire time. Did they think I was going to walk out with a drill press? I don't think so. This is just big city paranoia. All of their comments and suggestions were just mean and they even told me that I could use a few paid lessons on gear that I had been using professionally for over 6 years with no problems at all. I am all for education but come on - this guys are a rip off and way over priced.

I see now that they are newer to the area and may not understand what a small town retail store must offer. You can also see that they are mean to people they don't even know:

"Chris Endresen scares me as far as business goes, remarked Paul Marshall owner of DSC Industrial Supply in Poulsbo. She doesn't understand business, and she doesn't do anything to help business. We moved here from Seattle five years ago and it was a real eye opener."

I ask you owner of DSC - what are you doing to help business in Kitsap by turning people away with your small man attitude and fat lazy look?

I have found much better pricing at the other locations in Kitsap including:

I've done buisness with DSC for a couple of years, Sue and Paul have been some of the kindest people I know on the planet... I think this comment HAD to be about someone else... This does not fit either of them in any way... they have been very courteous and extremely helpful each and every time I've dealt with them... I have found their products of very high quality, and pricing has been very competitive... It's nice walking into a buisness that has the attitude of "how can I help you" and that's what I've experienced each and every time I've been in the store, or called on the phone... PLEASE do not take this other person's complain very seriously, and check them out for yourself... I highly recommend DSC in Poulsbo...

I have my own business in Kitsap county - I am a cabinetmaker and do small remodels. Both I and my wife have been shopping at DSC for a number of years.

My experience with DSC has been totally opposite that of the person who filed the complaint. I have always found the people who work there to be helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous. I have NEVER seen them be mean or disrespectful to either myself, my wife, or any other customer. They have never been aggressive.

As for their prices, I feel they are quite competitive. Anyone who buys things should shop around. DSC's prices are not always the lowest. But many times they are the lowest, and their quality is always good.

Tomorrow I will be purchasing a table saw attachment from DSC. I am doing this after shopping around and finding DSC's prices to be lower than what I find on the internet or at other stores (when postage is considered). I am also planning on purchasing a drill press from DSC, probably in the next 30 day, for the same reason. These are not minor items - total cost should be around $600. So cost is a significant consideration to me.

I am writing this rebuttal because I believe DSC fits into a specific niche in the retail market that is not found elsewhere in the north Kitsap community. It would be a significant loss if they were not here.
