Dutyfreecigarettes.com ripoff took money for order but received no shipment and no response to repeated e-mail inquiries Panama Internet
We had ordered cigarettes from this company in the past with no problems what so ever, however, on Feb 9, 2001 we placed an $80 order with them for five cartons of cigarettes.
It is now Mar 15, 2003 and have not received them to date. I have sent repeated e-mails to them asking for the status of the cigarette shipment.
At first I received a very apologetic response and was advised they would track the order and get right back with me. Nothing. I sent at least one e-mail per month with no response.
I then sent an e-mail telling them I wanted my money refunded as I still had not received a response nor my order. I then received an e-mail from them stating my order was delayed in Miami due to the Sept 11, 2001 crisis. I was told that all shipments were being inspected at customes and they would find out how much longer it would be.
The next day I received another e-mail from them stating it would be two to three more weeks till I received them and that they were sending me a carton for free as an apology for the time I had been waiting. They also thanked me for continuing to use their site. (that was a laugh! I will never use it again nor will anyone else I have told this story too!!!!)
I have since sent repeated e-mails to them asking for my refund. I do NOT want those shipped back in 2/9/01 as they will be stale enough to...well you know!
Anyway...still have not heard a word from that company and do not expect to! My advise....find a way to get that company off the internet so others aren't ripped off as we were! good luck!

I too was ripped off by this company. I ordered four cartons of cigarettes in April 2002 and still haven't received anything but a charge to my credit card. I've tracked this company down via www.nic.com and found they have five websites. Here is their contact information: Organization: First Universal Corporation LTD Daniel Santos Road Town Tortola, Tortola Po Box 3161 VG Phone: 3161 Fax..: 3161 Email: [email protected] Do not order from any of their websites. I tried emailing Government Organizations in the Virgin Islands, but their mailboxes are full. Don't be fooled by their slick websites. This company is nothing more than a SCAM!
