I gave Earhardt Ford a $500 deposit to build my car that i had designed on Ford's website. The $500 deposit was communicated to me that it was refundable, and contingent upon financing.

A past due electric bill mistakenly showed up on my credit at the electric companies mix up and i was denied the original terms and conditions i was previously "verbally pre-approved for." at 4% interest for 72 months, payments ranging from $443 - $460.

When i was  presented with a ridiculous payment, i said i did not want the payment to be that high at $585/mo. with 10.98% interest for 72 months.

I have a excellent payment history and have never missed a payment on anything, but the car dealership was using the recent refinance of my truck and this mistaken electric bill as leverage to charge me a higher interest rate.

I declined the offer. Ford then offered $550/mo. for 72 months. -I declined (interest never disclosed)

The next day an offer for $530 at 9.67% for 72 months was presented to me and after 2 hours of negotiations, I accepted and signed the offer sheet.

The next day, when i went to sign the purchase agreement but the bank had declined the first offer for $530, then counter offered at 10.67% for 72 months, with payments of $545. This counter offer from TD Bank would automatically void out the previous offer for $530.This was $15 more than we had originally agreed upon the prior night when the offer sheet was originally signed, so i declined.

After i declined the $545 the dealership attempted to revisit the $530 agreement, without presenting a newly drafted agreement to me. -I declined that offer as well, being this was the 4th offer.

When i asked for my full $2,400 down payment back, the dealership stated that the $500 deposit to build the car was non-refundable.

I stated that it was never disclosed to me that it was non-refundable, neither have i signed documents stating it was non-refundable.

The purchase contract of the vehicle was never fully executed, and i demanded my money back.

The dealership only refunded $1,900 of my $2,400 initial down payment, then stated: "Its common knowledge that the deposit is non-refundable." "We keep other customers money all the time"- Brendon the head finance manager at Earnhardt Ford

I stated that was hear-say and never disclosed to me and demanded my full $2,400 back. Earnhardt Ford only refunded $1,900 of my initial $2,400 deposit, keeping the other $500 for their own greed.
