The respondant from Texas must be an auto dealer. His empathy is nothing short of touching. I should have "bailed as soon as I arrived and saw what it was?" Can you tell the difference between a 2003 and 2004 Beetle? They look exactly the same. I had no idea it was a 2003 until they actually TOLD me it was a 2003 and that was 2 1/2 hours after I arrived. FYI - I did call CarsDirect. Hey, I've got a very strong negotiation point for a make-good on my side - the customer survey. East Coast told me they wanted all "fives and yeses" on the VW customer survey. Until they can come up with a little more than they're offering they're in the "zero and no" range. And understand the manufacturers beat them up on that. As for "approved credit." East Coast knew I was coming, they had all my credit information prior to my arrival there was absolutely nothing stopping them from running my credit report and submitting it to their lenders so that was all done when I got there. I have a few choice words I'd like to add but I refuse to stoop to your level and personally insult you as you did me.

Why did you stand for it? You were outraged but....;they never heard of you, they sold you a 2003,it wasn't ready, it wasn't equipped properly, they kept you waiting 6 hours and you still bought the car and then tried to renegotiate with them after you bought the car. You should have bailed as soon as you arrived and saw what was up. Played on youe emotions. Spare us. Should have called CarsDirect directly back and told them where to get off also. I think the only way to have "approved" financing prior to going to a dealer is with your bank or credit union with a letter of credit or a sight draft from them, otherwise it's all BS.
