Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

John Goodman signed a contract to move two buildings from a church to two different locations with the understanding that if they were not moved, they would be demolished, so getting them moved on time was very important. He did not start the job in timely manner nor did he take advantage of good weather as often as he should have.

He also did not have the supplies needed to get the job done in the time that was agreed. The time was extended two weeks due to rain. However, even with the extensions, he was not prepared when the weather was good.  He did not have the beams needed nor  the permits to be ready to work when the weather allowed.

He also did not show up to work on sunny days several times and when he did show up, he did not take advantage of the daylight and work as long as possible.

He knew he had to have it moved by Nov. 23 but on November 21, he quit halfway through the sunny day. He could have moved at least half of the building which was also requested of him.

He signed the contract to move these buildings, knew the size, looked at the places they were being moved to, signed a contrract, said he could do it- no problem, and then with 1 1/2 days left, he quit. He knew the building would be demolished and did not leave us time to hire someone else.

He did move one of the buildings and instead of going back and moving the other building, as was requested, he decided to spend a lot of time leveling the first building. He could have waited on the leveling. Also, he was not using the same beams to move the second building, so he could have moved the second building, then leveled them all.

Consequently, we have lost two additions to our barn that were given to us free as long as we paid the moving costs. It will cost approximately $60,000.00 to build new additions of the same size on to the barn.

We feel he misled us and took a job that he was not prepared to complete. He cost us untold hours of work and worry not to mention a great loss monetarily.
