It doesn't appear that you've done much investigating. The user name is very much in existence. The uses name is listed as being a member of e-bay for 7 years 1 month and the user is listed as being from IL, United States. It also appears that this seller deals mostly in sellingjewelry and has a feedback score of 99.8% Didn't you check into any of this before sending your hard earned cash to Lakeport CA and not the seller's location in IL? If you had added two and two, you might have considered that the ayao4 name or account was being hijacked but seeing how easily you got pulled in, adding doesn't seem to be your stronger suit but not doing much does. Next, I for the life of me, don't understand why there are so many that brave huge purchases with so many variables missing from the equation but instead, rely on a photo and description. It's like taking the gamble of pouring gas around a pile of cash, lighting the gas and then hope the cash doesn't ignite too; not taking into consideration the winds that may... You've been burned I tend to believe you when you say that you were contacted through e-bay. If I'm not mistaken, all a hijacker would have to do is to click on "contact member" and send a massage but who knows. At any rate, good luck with this. I sincerely hope that the sting of this whole situation finds a remedy. Take care.

For goodness sake Denny if you can't say anything constructive, say nothing please. We all know about Ebay and the scammers that swarm to it. This gentleman was Ripped off. This Site is called ripoffreport.com. The OP has reported a ripoff. I feel nothing but sympathy for him and nothing but disdain for you because of your arrogant, holier than thou stance on this matter. Who gives a rats' what is contained in the email header? The gentleman has been ripped off and has reported the ripoff to this site. This is not a forum for Denny to show how far his head is up Ebays arse. Give us all a break and for once have some compassion - the OP has lost a lot of money and whether it was directly through Ebay or not he lost the money. If Ebay was not around he would not have lost this money. I am certainly not saying that Ebay is responsible for this monetary loss. I have over 30years professional technical IT experience and I guess you do too. The difference between us is that I don't expect computer users to have the knowledge that I do to easily spot scams. I therefore feel great sympathy for anybody ripped off by the industry that I love and at times I am ashamed to admit that I am an IT Professional. Think about it Denny, surely you can stand in the OP's shoes for a minute.

And why haven't you answered my questions? Like did the message appear in your Ebay profiel in your inbox under MyEbay? If it does, then its a legitimate ebay email as well So post the headers. Why are you so afraid to do so? Police involved? Now , I know that is a lie. The police know jack squat about how to read email and determining the origins of where they came from. Just because it "looks" like its from eBay, it doesn't mean it is. THAT's why I asked for headers. So far, you've provided nothing, so until you do, we can only assume that you fell for the typical scam, and dont want to own up to your mistakes. Ebay can't do anything to help you , if you purchased the item, not through their system, or from anything generated by them. Your unwillingness to provide more information on the matter, shows that you just want to gripe about it, when if we "see" the proof, it would show that you were suckered by just a plain old scammer.

Did the second chance offer appear in your inbox at ebay.com (type in manually, ebay.com and login to your account). Bet ya, it didn't appear there. Post the headers of the email you received along with the "source" (if your email program renders html, that's 100% of your problem. Turn that crap off). Second chance offers can only be given when an auction has ended. Want to give us the auction number (forget it, its past 30 days). As for ebay not being secured; their site is secured. What you do off of ebay (as far as payng them), is YOUR problem; not theirs. Wiring money to someoen you've never seen or met in person? That's just saying "YES take my money". in fact, ebay warns you against paying seller via wire transfer .

Did the second chance offer come through email? Did it contain a link in the email? Did you click on that link? Then you didn't goto an ebay site, but one made up to look like ebay. You were a victim of phishing . Care to post the full headers and source of the email sent to you offering the second chance? By doing so, we can determine where the email actually came from In your My Ebay page at the real ebay site, in your inbox, does it have a SEcond Chance Offer notice for that item? IF not, then you were not emailed/offered the second chance via ebay.

It's not ebay's fault, it's yours. It wasn't an Ebay 'secured site' it was a scam that's been going on for years. I don't know the model and type of Harley, but chances are it was a 'great deal' right? However, if you have the bank info, have you reported the fraud to his bank? They HAVE to investigate it. Don't just sit there and take it in the a*s. Do something about it. They will release the information on this guy with a court order! Get the detective in California to arrest this guy....
