Thanks to Frank who really opened up some good questions about Ecoquest. I was about to sign up for this tommorrow after doing some research for hours and hours. But, I wanted to come here first, and it definitely paid off.

I was looking for a company that centered its business around Christ like ethics, and thought I had found the one. On April 4, 2006, ABC did a report on air purifiers.

What scares me is that the comment about the EPA having all of Ecoquest products registered with them is this, quoted from the EPA website:

Several brands of ozone generators have EPA establishment number on their packaging. This number helps EPA identify the specific facility that produces the product. THE DISPLAY OF THIS NUMBER DOES NOT IMPLY EPA ENDORSEMENT OR SUGGEST IN ANY WAY THAT EPA HAS FOUND THE PRODUCT TO BE EITHER SAFE OR EFFECTIVE. http://www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/airclean.html

Also on the EPA site as well as the American Lung Association site, they say these are DANGEROUS! And if someone is going to respond that the Ecoquest products are within the appropriate range, they have something to say about that too!

EPA says:

In one study (Shaughnessy and Oatman), a large ozone generator recommended by the manufacturer for spaces "up to 3,000 square feet," was placed in a 350 square foot room and run at a high setting. The ozone in the room quickly reached concentrations that were exceptionally high--0.50 to 0.80 ppm which is 5-10 times higher than public health limits (see Table 1).

In an EPA study, several different devices were placed in a home environment, in various rooms, with doors alternately opened and closed, and with the central ventilation system fan alternately turned on and off. The results showed that some ozone generators, when run at a high setting with interior doors closed, would frequently produce concentrations of 0.20 - 0.30 ppm. A powerful unit set on high with the interior doors opened achieved values of 0.12 to 0.20 ppm in adjacent rooms. When units were not run on high, and interior doors were open, concentrations generally did not exceed public health standards (US EPA, 1995).

http://www.epa.gov/iaq/pubs/ozonegen.html

They also said on that same page that at allowed levels, the elimination of contaminents and smells were unlikely to happen.

It bothers me SO much as a Christian, that this company would sell products that can harm people! They are putting children and elderly people around these ozone machines that can be harmful! My grandmother is in the last stage of COPD, basically almost no lung function, and she's on oxygen, I thought maybe this could help clear the smoke in her house, unfortuently, she does still smoke, but the American Lung Association said that ozone machines can cause inflammation, shortness of breath, ESPECIALLY in people with certain lung problems, one being asthma. I am glad I didn't possibly contribute to a possibly sooner death of my grandmother.

One last thing about this company; this was the last deciding factor in my NO choice of working with them. The lifestyle. They boast of bonus cars up to 800 dollars a month that you can achieve for you're success, company paid. Let me ask, would Jesus be likely living in this way, extravagant like this? I don't believe that he is against prosperity for He gives it, but I think he would probably see better use like feeding people and other things of that nature. I'm deeply convicted and dissappointed that this company seems to have fallen away from the roots of a once very humble, and truthful company.

They don't lie, but deception is a form of that. If they were really concerned about people and quality of life, they wouldn't be putting their names and gaining profit on things that will harm innocent people! I think I'll leave it to the lung experts and the protection agency. They aren't gaining financially from that truth, but Ecoquest would from the deception.

SO glad I came to this site, and spurred me to further research. Please people who are considering this, would you want to be responsible for seeing a little girl or boy harmed by this eventually, one out of a million is enough to get me to say no. It could be yours. Thanks.

1 in a million odds is enough for you to stop using a product? Well, let me present some scary numbers to you.

1 in 400,000 Odds of being killed in an airline flight (Please never fly again)

1 in 48,500 Dying walking across the street (Please never leave your house again)

1 in 88,000 chance of drowning (please never swin again, or any other activity that may place in a water source. Boating, skining, fishing...)

1 in 16,500 chance of being murdered (May happen at your house or out of it)

1 in 100 chance of dying in an automobile driving fatality (Sell your vehicle, motorcycle etc... and never drive again)

Most products you purchase in life are tainted in some way. Whether it be the fact it was made by a company that employees a child to make it for .39 cents an hour.

It may be a food product you put into your mouth that was sprayed with pesticide, or that was watered in your own garden from a water faucet that treated the water chemically and that cannot remove carcinogens from the public water source...

Studies and surveys and statistics can be manipulated to show whatever the company employing them want it to say.

Change the wording in how you say it and you can make anything safe statistically.

I have also never seen a report of a person dying from an ozone machine.

My cousin has 3 in his house and they run full blast 24 hours a day, and has been for 10+ years. His family seems to be doing just fine...

It is extremely laughable that anyone with any common sense would cite any study the EPA conducts. If the EPA had any accuracy for their studies, we wouldn't be having all of the global issues we experience with our water supply, our atmosphere...

Water treatment plants aren't designed to remove move pesticides or carcinogens from the water supply. They certainly arent equipped to remove all the medication that is flushed or expelled from our body from ingesting medications on a daily basis. Where d you think that ends up? You drinking it again. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23503485/

Think about this one. Why has the temperature of the world gone up over the past 100 years? Well, according to studies our pollution and ways we live. That may have some piece to do with it.

In 1900 the worlds population was 1.650 billion. Today it is around 7 billion.

Each and every human generates heat from their body? Where does that heat go? it vents off of you an into the immediate environment.

I would say adding an additional 5.3 billion people alone in 100 years would cause a significant increase in temperature from your bodies radiant heat alone...

So our product is bad....

So you cite: "EPA says: In one study (Shaughnessy and Oatman), a large ozone generator recommended by the manufacturer for spaces "up to 3,000 square feet," was placed in a 350 square foot room and run at a high setting. The ozone in the room quickly reached concentrations that were exceptionally high--0.50 to 0.80 ppm which is 5-10 times higher than public health limits (see Table 1)." But what you failed to mention was the product tested was not an Ecoquest product. Some ozone generators cannot be turned up or down. Our main technology isn't ozone though we have ozone as a part of the SynAirG system. So If I have a unit capable of doing 3000sq ft wouldn't I set it at 250sq ft if I was putting it in a 350 sq ft room if it went in increments of 250? To run it at 3000 in a 350 sq ft space is going against what the directions say and could go abe the EPA's standard. However the results from the University of Cincinatti study specifically states that it does maintain lower than the EPA's standard for prolonged use. So you just took a paper written on a different technology by a different manufacturer and used it to discredit a product that wasn't tested and claim the results are? What is your point. The Fresh Air is proven both safe, effective and #1

And another thing regarding the American Lung Association and ozone

As I mentioned above the ALA is financial parters with Honeywell filters. The EPA originally stated that 70ppb-90ppb was harmless levels of ozone in an indoor home, if you check the EPA's ozone monitoring stations around the country on any given day the outdoor ground level ozone was 70-115ppb, but there weren't outcries of people in hospitals everywhere suffering lung damage as you would believe since it is supposedly extremely toxic...according to business that are losing business to a product that will one day destroy their business alltogether. So anyway, long story short. The ALA sued the EPA about the same time that photocatalytic oxidation and ozone technology hit the market strong because Honeywell was looking at millions of lost potential suckers who would actually believe a filter workd. Research Chaos theory, it is impossible to get all of the air in a house through a box and even when a unit says it does a number of air changes an hour it is talking equivalent volume of air and not all the air. So what we really have is a strategical business play to gain sales...all based on lies. Our units stay within half of what the EPA's new standard for ozone is which is 50 ppb, they average about 20 ppb when you follow directions and use it as you are told to. Since the American Lung Association is a nonprofit org...how come they have a vested interest with Honeywell? Maybe they need to be sued for slandering products with a proven track record and enough scientific evidence to back up the fact that not even one of our old units ever caused a problem that resulted in harm. Now we are moving away from ozone because RCI does the same thing and we don't have to waste time explaining this mass stupidity created by people who believe everything they read online!

First, though the Fresh Air uses some ozone it doesn't fall into a class as a normal ozone generator. The RCI technology synthesizes what nature does to purify itself. Ozone is natures way of purification and these units operate at far lower levels than the EPA regulations. Also the American Lung Associations owns part of Honeywell air purifyers , or at least they support them in a big way financially, so don't always believe what you read. The EPA still says bleach kills mold and that has been proven false many times in many labs. The federal govt used Ecoquest technology to clean up the pentagon after 9-11 and the CDC in China has the technmology in all of their buildings because it is effective in quickly destroying the componants of a biological weapon. KSU tested the technology and it destroyed over 199,000 avain flu cells in 12hrs. It is also proven agains strep, toxic mold, bacteria and a bunch of other things. Ecotech, if far more than ozone. It uses a UVX light wrapped in a matrix of 4 nobel metals that when in contact with UVA, UVB, and UVC light produce oxidisers, hydro peroxides, oxides and superoxide ions that litterally clean the air. NASA uses the technology on the space station. What you are missing is that some ozone generators use bad technology to create ozone that also creates nitrogen gas which is harmful. Ecoquest units don't. Water can kill you if you drink too much, do we ban water...? of course not! Fire kills, but do we still use it? Ozone can give you a sore throat if the levells are too high but if you read the instructions the units are totally safe and extremely effective and when ozone breaks down you are left with pure oxygen. Ozone actually is 10,000 x more powerful and 3000x faster than bleach at disinfecting and no where near as poisonous. Should we ban bleach? The units even on sanitize at their highest levels can't hurt you more than a little irritation, plus you would smell it and know to turn it down. I have one and I love it. My mother in law has respiratory problems and i let her use it and she loved it. She said it was the first time in a long time she didn't have trouble breathing. There are a couple million testimonies like that that say how effective Ecoquest is and that is why Healthier you Magazine said they were the best in their Oct 06 issue. Some ozone generators are bad, Ecoquest is the best and is totally safe!

Holly stated..."Please people who are considering this, would you want to be responsible for seeing a little girl or boy harmed by this eventually, one out of a million is enough to get me to say no." Holly is concerned that maybe one day one child will be hurt by and air purifier. Not once in the history of ozone generating residential air purifiers is there one report of harm coming to a person as a result of the ozone that is generated. There are in fact, millions of people that benefit daily from this amazing product. Martin Luther King Jr's wife was on her way to Mexico for ozone treatment when she unfortunately passed away. As a believer in Christ, she has everlasting life. Every day, children die in backyard swimming pools, bathtubs, even buckets of water. Should we ban water from the homes? Not once has a child died from ozone. Holly's statements from the EPA... only a fool would take a machine designed for 3000 sq/ft run it on high in a 350 sq/ft room. Would you drive your care at 120 mph on a residential street or set your oven at 600 degrees to warm bread? Would you set your a/c at 55 degrees and then complain it is too cold? If am not here to question Holly's Christianity. EcoQuest provides bonuses for employees that help other people earn money. In order to receive a bonus car, you must help at least 4 other people earn on average 7K per month. What can be a better example of a Christian helping others that help at least 4 people earn a significant income? And if the EcoQuest Dealer stops helping others, their bonus checks are immediately stopped. Holly, have you questioned the Pope, Billy Graham, John Hagee, Joel Osteen, and many others about why they are not living in grass huts and walking everywhere they go? To be Christian has nothing to do with how the Lord our Father provides for us. It is also not for us to judge, Jesus Christ is the only judge.
