Complaint Review: Eduart Bajrami High Tech Roofing - Boston Massachusetts

 My girlfriend is having a pool put in her yard, she lives in a nice town north of Boston. There are a couple of houses on her street some new construction being built and some remodeling , so there were a good amount of guys working with there trucks and phone numbers on the side so i figured these guys are all working on these million dollar houses they must be professionals. Not being from the area I didn't really have any good recommendations so I started calling some of the numbers on the trucks. I don't recall exactly how I met Eduart Bajrami but he wound up trying to get the masonry job. He was very polite and personable had a heavy accent and I later found out he is from Albania. He came to the house several times brought samples of stone was very accommodating, now that I look back I see why. My girlfriend picked out some time from a book that he kept telling her he could get this tile that's expensive , very cheap it's porcelain it's beautiful and she did like the tile it's was very nice. And this is were his scam gets good he then sends a professional type woman over named Mary she has a nice design to show Cheryl what it will look like and how beautiful it will look she had the dementions everything it was very professional then he had a professional mason show up ask all the right questions it was so good of a scam. Now we start going over price he is saying to us that he is trying to expand into this area, he wants to use her yard as a showcase and as long as she is okay with potential customers coming to view his work for about 6 months he will do the job for just cost. He is gonna make her yard so beautiful he had her and me so excited. Well the season was winding down the pool was closed its early nov at this point we agree on a price of 18500 he says to me several times I just need u to cover the material up front so u have to give me 10,800 that's just the cost of the tile he needs to go to New Jersey were his cousin owns the tile company and that's how he gets a great deal. I had no reason at this time to suspect or feel anything suspicious. Now this is not my house I'm trying to help my girlfriend get prices so I told Ed she needed some time to think about it and she wasn't sure if she wanted to spend the 18500 now or wait until after the winter well Ed in a very polite and professionally Persistant way would send a text every week or so saying I am gonna make her so happy she is gonna love u it's gonna be so beautiful, he then would drop little subtle things like I can't keep that price if we don't do now . Why not make beautiful now we will be done in one week, we in and out he kept saying. He was good. So Cheryl at this point liked Ed so it was more me convincing her that I thought we were getting a great deal I knew the tile was expensive. The woman Mary would make comments to Ed , like Ed this is a 25 k thousand dollar job what are u doing , he would tell her to be quiet he knows how to market his business So Cheryl agrees she goes to the bank gets 10800 and gives Ed more than half up front that's how he gets u. The next day he shows up some guys start digging to get the pool area ready Ed pulls me aside and says I made a mistake I thought the pool was rectangle not founded on corners not to worry but he made it a point to show me. He then says he has to leave to jersey to get the tile he will be back in 24 hours. The whole time he has guys working but just shovels and supposably leveling the ground were the tile is going. The woman Mary even comes buy to make sure dimensions are correct I'm pumped thinking she is gonna be so happy. Well now Ed calls me and is setting me up he tells me he has everything lined up. He is gonna be at the tile place they do the cuts right there he will call me when he is leaving well he calls me and says David I need U to wire me 2500 dollars I'm short to get the tile because of my mistake don't worry I am not increasing price just don't want to come back to New Jersey just for another 2500 if I pay on my credit card it takes 2 weeks to deliver I need to most cash to get so cheap. He kept saying I told u I needed I to cover material , and yes we have a contract I don't think I mentioned that. So anyway I get the 2500 and sent it to him. I forgot to mention he also got 4000 that he suppose my paid the concrete company so he had a total of 16500 we had dirt leveled and he has never come back. I have talked to 2 other homeowners in swampscot that he pulled the same scam on them. its larceny it's stealing it's ruined our holidays it's unbelievable he left the yard a mess and on top of it one of his workers caused 1000 dollars damage to the side of the pool.
