On August 28, 2002 I call the company in which I purchased a side by side refrigidare and freezer that it was making a loud noise in the freezer. When they came out they informed us that it was a warranty problem so they called the waranity company and they made five (5) trips each time telling us that the freezer was fixed each time it was not.

We went with out a freezer and refrigidare for over one (1) week due to them telling us that it was fixed each time they left. Finnaly on the last call the owner of the repare company said that it was beyond repair. He helped us get in touch with Electrolux and they replaced the unit on Sept. 5, 2002. However, when I turned in my loss food report (just from the freezer) the amount was $461.25 dollars on October 1, 2002, they (Electrolus) sent me a check for $50.00.

I'm sorry that did not touch 1/8th of the cost of food that was lost and I did not turn everything in because a lot of it was from our garden.

I'm sorry but I trusted their name and they let me down. I'll never buy another product of theirs and I will tell other people not to buy.

EDitor's Comment: Bryce, should have responded more quickly

Bryce, There is no reason to denigrate the victim's claim of a loss or the amount. Electrolux should have responded more quickly also, which takes priority over the victim's requirement to do anything. EDitor

Ridiculous Loss Of Food

#3Consumer Comment

Oh my heavens how ridiculously childish can you act? You lost 461 dollars of food? HOw did you come to that conclusion? I can understand some food loss, but think about it here: you're buying a cheap off brand fridge, and then when things go wrong you expect A-1 service.

IF you buy cheap, expect cheap service in return. I guarantee if you had bought a GE or Kenmore or a five star brand, you would been reimbursed for the cost of food and they would replace the freezer a lot faster.

I am sorry that lost you lost all that food, I really am, but you pay for what you get. You should have invested in a few styrofoam coolers. They're about 5 bucks a piece, and you can buy bags of ice for a buck. I think they would have been more willing to reimburse you for that than they would 400 dollars of spoiled food. Now, let this be a lesson to everyone: BUY BRAND-NAME APPLIANCES!!!
