This is warning I use to have 2 Providian credit cards. I use to to pay a high interest rate because of a BK. It was 16.9%. For some unknown reason it was raised to 29.9%. I never was late plus I made payments more than the min. payment. All of the sudden the mastercard was sold to emerge.

Then the major problems started.

As of this date I have not received a bill, statement or anything from emerge and this has been about 13 months now. The only time I can get to talk to them is when they call me. The only thing is that they only call about every 3-4 months. They did not give me a accout number because they can not do this over the phone? They finally gave me web page to go to and account #. The only problem is that the web page is under construction. When you make a payment over the phone there is a $9.95 charge.

Before emerge took over the account, I had a balance of about $2500 and a $500 left open. When emerge took it over the account it was closed and could not be opened until it was paided in full(maybe). Now I owe about $3500+ and I still have a problem trying to get anything done. I had talked to a person today when I did a lot of searching online and finally got there phone #. When I was talking to the person there was a accent barrier because he was from India! When I was able to under- stand what was said and I asked a question the person only could say was give me a minute to check when all the information was on the computer screen.

All I can say is that if you need a credit card DO NOT GET ONE.
