My wife and I purchased our home in the Encantada Park almost a year ago. We are both retired and chose Encantada because it was presented to us as a 55+ senior park. A senior park was and remains our top priority in choosing a place to live. We were also told that there were leash laws regarding pets and that no pets were left outside un attended.

After moving in, it didn't take long to learn that neither the 55+ senior rule nor the pet rule was being enforced.  The noice from automobile boom boxes and unattended pets is horrendous.

We are very unhappy with this and we feel like we were deceived from the beginning. If the Encantada Park was what it was portrayed to be by the management, it would indeed be a wonderful place to live...unfortunately, that is not the case.

I purchased my home in Encantada Park in 2008. I am 70 yrs old and I want to tell you that some people just like to complain! I love living here and I have not had any problems with residents or management. I wonder if the author of the post does not take into account that younger children and grandchildren visit and may be confused as to a senior park 55+.

As to the leash law that is referred to, once again, many seniors have their pets as one of their family members and I can see the front part of my street and I have never seen a dog not on a leash. NEVER!

The only time I complained was a couple of years ago, when it was very clear that the people in the pool were not from within the park nor lived here. Since then I believe this problem has been taken care of along with updating the gate entrance.

I like living here and my MH backs up to the city garages and at times I hear them but it is not anoying to me. I like to hear the guys whistle while they are working. This is how it should be!

You have to take some lemons with the apples, because at this same location the city has their Fireworks display that last about 1/2 hour. I know it disturbs some pets in the park, but I love not having to fight traffic to see a wonderful display.

I like the location of this park. It is close to everything!

The city has several parades that go by on Solano and all I have to do is take my folding chair to the curb and watch and enjoy that too.

Encantada is a great 55+ community and management has made many improvements in the last two years.  As any community has it challenges with rule enforcement we are happy to report we have few issues with individuals and their pets.  We are a pet friendly community and for many of our residents they are considered members of their families!  Pets should not be left unattended without supervision and those incidents should be reported to management in order for the pet owners to be contacted.  Without factual information it would be impossible for us to contact the pet owner to give them an opportunity to correct the issue.  We are available via phone, cell, email and our door is always open to our residents and their families.  The senior rule applies to 80% of our residents who meet that age under the HUD requirements; however 20% of our applicants/residents are not required to meet the age requirement.  No instances have been reported lately regarding boom boxes and unattended pets, certainly not on Avenida de Encantada or Bison Trail.  If issues are not reported to management and residents have been advised to contact us, no solution can be offered.  We beleive strongly Encantada is a wonderful place to live, unfortunately homes facing the entrance/exit to the community will have more exposure to traffic noise since Solano is one of the busiest streets in Las Cruces, NM.  The NMDOT also houses their large equipment and have early morning staff loading up for the day and often involves loud music.  It has been brought to their attention and are working on a solution.  These concerns have been forwarded to our District Manager for follow up.  ARC and its employees have the best interest of their residents as top priority, again we encourage an open door policy and hope to hear from anyone who has issues or concerns.
