Eric Longton General Contracing Hired Eric Longton to put a new roof on a home Schenectady NY
Avoid Eric Longton General contracting at all cost. Hired Eric to put a roof on my home 9/18. Paid Eric $2400 of a $4,800 bill up front. He initally wanted $3800. This should have been a red flag. Eric stripped my roof and then disappeared leaving me exposed to the elements for a week. Of course it rained and leaked to the interior damaging my home.
No response from eric to dozens of calls and texts. I was left with no choice but to hire an emergency roofing contractor the roofed the home and made me weather tight in one day. It was always just a one day job. Small townhouse after all. Eric finally did respond and offered to refund my inital $2,400 over 6 months at $400/month as he "had no money". Then for some reason he changed his mind. This is were it gets really crazy.
He left his equipment in my garage and I told him he was free to pick it up anytime. He actually filed a police report and accused me of stealing his equipment that is basically a ladder and is now suing me for breach of contract. Absolutely the most dishonest contractor I have every dealt with. Avoid at all costs. He does not care about his business or reputation. Just ripping people off.
A legit businessman would want to make this right and would have refunded my costs as originally agreed but of course his word is nothing and he renegged even on that agreement.
