Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I purchased a "Mini-bulldog" from DawnMarie who was selling hte dog on behalf of Evan Quintavella from the bulldog exchange. I received the puppy at 8 weeks of age 10 HOURS after the expected flight time. Evan or someone from his kennel made the puppy miss his flight and the poor puppy was re-routed from FL to TX to NJ a total of 10 hours flight time. The poor puppy wsa in his crate without the appropriate amount of food and water for 10 hours straight. When he did arrive we immediaetly took him to the vet the next morning (we did have an appt for that night at 7pm but the pup didn't arrive until midnight). The vet dianosed him with coccidia, ear mites, ear infection and worms. Now I ask you, they claim on their contract that the dogs are examined THE DAY BEFORE they are shipped, how is it humanly possible that the vet missed coccidia, worms, ear mites AND an ear infection????? How is it possible he didn't see these things prior to shipping the puppy? Something is seriously fishy with this issue and again remains un-addressed. I immediately informed Dawn who submitted the vet billls to Evan and to date I have not recieved reimbursement for hte treatment.

Furthermore, he was diagnosed with entropian (the inverting of the eyelids) and he has had two sets of staples put in as well as surgery scheduled within the next few months to repair this HEREDITARY problem. The cost is a whopping $1500 per eye.

Additionally, this bully is certainly no where near miniature, according to all their sites a standard male weighs between 20-40lbs, WELL my bulldog at 9 months of age weighs 65 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is NOT miniature, not even the small end of a regular bulldog. Had I wanted a regular bulldog I would have bought one, instead I have an enormous dog who at 9 months is obviously still growing. Who knows how much larger he'll be!!!

I have emailed and called Evan several times to no avail. I just want responses as to why my bulldog is so large and where my reimbursment is. ALso I wanted to discuss the entropian with him.

I have emailed the following:

4/4/07- per contract email DawnMarie to inform her of the vets finding of ear mites, ear infection and worms.

4/23/07- asking DawnMarie status of reimbursement

4/26/07- asking DM status of reimb, email her informing her of coccidia as well and reimbursement for meds

5/16/07- email to MBCOA re: all these issues and lack of reimbursement (recieve a note back with "we'll take care of it" no reply since)

9/4/07- another email to MBCOA

9/7/07- Letter sent directly to MBCOA listing these complaints

9/10/07-10/23- various calls w/DM and vms w/EQ. DM said she told EQ to call me, to date no call, EQ hasn't returned VM either.

I'm not looking for anything other than explanations.

BUYER BEWARE, you are NOT getting mini-bulldogs off this guy, nor are you getting the picture of health w/these dogs as he claims. It is PURE false advertising to say these dogs grow no more than 40lbs, meanwhile my puppy is 65 lbs and not even fully matured yet.

MAria I too am a victim of Dawn Marie. I received my puppy Duke 8/7/08, never realizing what was happening. Duke was an amazing bulldog, unfortunately with many many health problems. I too have spent thousands to keep him alive. Although all the money in the world could not save him, and he passed away on the operating table on Monday 12/29/08 of heart failure while having surgery to correct his elongated soft pallette. If there is any way to contact you to discuss this issue, please let me know thanks so much Liz B

Almost a year ago, I purchased a mini bulldog from Devan at thebulldogfinder.com. The problems began the moment I gave my credit card information. After I paid the initial 1,200 deposit I e-mailed all the forms and specifically wrote on the credit card form, to notify me when the rest of the payment was to be taken. She did not. Instead she ignored my phone calls, e-mails, and voicemail's, and took the money at her convenience. I finally contacted the MBCOA hoping to find out some information, and thats when I heard from Devan immediately. She assured me she was having phone trouble, and actually convinced me that she was going to be in contact with me in the future. I never spoke with her again. I cautiously made my way to the airport and luckily our puppy eventually arrived. After the puppy got here, we immediately took him for his exam, after all we did agree to do so in the first few days. Our boy was in good health but we were notified that his testicles had not dropped yet. It was written down on the papers we received when the puppy arrived, yet I felt entitled to know this information before the puppy was sent out. My vet informed me that this was not normal for a 9 week old puppy and that the breeder should have notified me first and foremost. I contacted Evan and he seemed as though he was going to be helpful. Instead he fed me lies about how he would cover the extra expenses from my puppies surgery. Finally he stopped responding and that was that. My situation is very minimal compared to other stories I have recently read about people who have bought dogs from all over associated with Evan Quintavella. I feel so sorry for those who spent thousands of dollars trying nurse a sick puppy. My message here is that Evan is not trustworthy, and it is a shame that he is running away from his problems. I have since realized that all of the breeders from west palm are all related to him, many I am beginning to believe are shady just like him. If you are looking for a beautiful puppy, please do your research. These people avoided all of the musts when it comes to buying a puppy, such as meeting the puppies parents( They were robbed they claimed) , and seeing their environment was an important aspect I missed out on. Evan, and Devan LIED to me and never even contacted me back. They are too caught up with the dollars and not concerned enough about the beloved dogs.

Bulldog Exchange- Evan Quintavella update

#7Author of original report

Wed, February 27, 2008

I wanted to revise this report, however since I cannot and all I can do is provide an update I want to say this: I wanted to clarify my issue was not with DawnMarie, she has been responsive in terms of my issues with our bulldog. Unfortunately, she is the middle person in this whole situation and cannot control Evan's response or lack thereof. Nor can she provide reimbursments. We love our bulldog more than anything and he is even tempered as the website suggests. This report should not be a reflection on the way DawnMarie conducts her business, rather the way Evan does. I hope someday Evan will respond to me, though I doubt it. It would be nice to recieve some reimbursement for all we have gone through, but again wishful thinking. I would purchase a bulldog from DawnMarie again, however making sure that she personally is involved with the selection of the dog to ensure we do in fact get the miniature that we longed for.
