If you want to add to your financial troubles, then just allow yourself to get involved with Everest Financial. I read another couple of blogs about them after it was too late.

They send you an email, claiming to give you a bad credit consolidation loan of some sort. You are sent a loan agreement and asked to provide a $1,200 security deposit by Western Union wire transfer. This will usually cost approximately $90.

I was "approved" for $15,000....this was after forwarding my pay stubs to them.

I sent the loan agreement back. I was next told you that I owed "taxes and insurance" to the tune of about $800. This was when a red flag came up. None of this was discussed beforehand, nor was it disclosed in any of the loan documents.

Emily Connor was my loan representative, and her "supervisor" is evidently someone named Janet Murphy. I spoke with Janet after I received word of the taxes and insurance. She agreed to return my deposit, along with the $89 wire transfer fee. Emily even sent me a "cancellation" agreement.

They already had my $1,200 and told me that if I wanted to reconsider or even apply for a larger loan, to let them know.

I really needed this loan, so, despite more suspicion on my part, I stupidly sent them the "taxes and insurance" on a $20,000 loan. This amounted to $913.33, and cost me another $77 to send by wire. I did this on Friday, 8/22/08.

After I notified Emily that I sent the taxes and insurance for the larger loan amount, she told me that she would put my loan in for processing Monday 8/25/08 and that I could expect the loan proceeds to be deposited into my bank account on Monday morning. Monday came and went and no loan.

I called the company and received an operator message that the company had been closed Saturday, 8/23/08, for a "company barbecue." I was advised by a phone rep that this was the reason I did not receive my loan on Monday. I was promised that the loan would be deposited on Tuesday. When that was not forthcoming, I called and spoke to a phone rep, who told me that "settlement costs and legal fees" of $685 were due to the "lender" and that the loan was "on hold."

Needless to say, I am now writing this on Wednesday, and not only have I not received any loan, I cannot get ahold of anyone about this and have received no word back from anyone. I have emailed, FAXed and left voicemail messages, to no avail.

I fear that I have been scammed, and I can't believe I was so stupid! I'm 56 years old and, believe it or not, was a real estate paralegal, so it's not as though I was unfamiliar with documents of the type I signed. I just was desperate, and evidently, trusting. And I got burned.

Do not do business with these fraud artists! Do not, do not, do not! I am trying not to drive my car into a wall over this, and I don't want ANYONE ELSE to have the same stress I have had, and continue to have, over this.

Sorry this was so long...I wanted to be sure I included all the details.

Sorry that you have been scammed by these people. Since you sent in pay stubs you may want to check what they might have as far as identy theft? Since I do not know this company, it may be in your best interest to keep an eye on your accounts. I am sure you already know this, but it crossed my mind. Do not let Atlanta Guy bother ya, some people have no shame! I am truly sorry you have been caught in this scheme. I see it all too often today. Good luck honey!

I checked with the Toronto Better Business Bureau first!

I did check with the Toronto Better Business Bureau before I did business with Everest, and they had no unfavorable report on them! I also checked online for several other "Everest" names and found nothing unfavorable as well. Moral to that is don't trust a Better Business Bureau, either. If you know about sites like Ripoff Report -- which I didn't know about -- check those first. Obviously, had I known about the site, I would not have gotten involved with Everest in the first place.

Well, I guess everyone isn't as all-knowing and all-seeing as you are, you pompous jerk. Thanks for the well wishes, creep.

You FEAR you have been scammed ??????? Geeezzzz. Had you bothered to have come to this site BEFORE you sent those scammers your money and read the hundreds of reports on this scam, you wouldn't have lost your money. And no, your report probably won't help anyone else from being scammed, as most fools are like you - the comer AFTER they have lost their money.
