Here is an update to the story:
In March of 2007 the Skyline finally arrived in Lake Stevens. A very special thanks to Frank Mendola for pushing the final paperwork through on this.
The car though did arrive heavily damaged. It took about $3700 to repaint and do the body work. The engine needed about $1500 in work as well. The drivetrain was fine. The tires were all threadbare and needed replacing. The biggest kicker though was that the car was not the color or year originally ordered.
Note that $15000 was laid out initially. Since EI went under, we had to pay extra storage fees, assembly fees and shipping fees to the assembler that supposedly were already covered in the initial fees.
It was a fellow US Marine that also had a car from EI who spearheaded this initiative and got things moving and a great deal of gratitude goes his way. Without this Marine's assistance the car would never have arrived.
