EZRENTList leads you to believe that if you do not find a rental through their listing you will get in excessive of the processing fee ($50). The total I paid for the service was $60. The refund manager stated the processing fee in excess of $60 was $30, thus I only got $30 back. They also only responded to my emails and calls if it benefited them (getting to keep money). I had to walk in to get my refund and only after demanding they fax my letter requesting my refund over to Raymond the refund manager.

They have two offices, one in Encino and one in Los Angeles. They only give you the contact information for the Encino location. Even at that location they have all their workers barred behind glass frosted windows and you have to ring a bell for service. All rental services are supposed to be run by a licensed broker. I have to wonder if they really are run by one.

Most of their workers appeared to be minimum wage workers who probably can't get work elsewhere. When the person at the Encino location tried to help me, even he could not get through to the refund manager. Raymond never called me back, even after I left multiple messages. I did finally get $30 back, but I would really like to find out how to file against them as a fraudulent and false advertising company. This would make a good class action suit for a lawyer, especially if they gained access to the Better Business Bureau listings of all the people who have complained about EZRENTList and never received their refund.

EZRentlist - Are they licensed???

"Pre-paid rental listing services" (also referred to as PRLS) are required to be licensed through the Department of Real Estate. Like a real estate agent, their license must be under or with a licensed broker. The license of the broker must be current and without violation or disciplinary action. The license held by EZRentlist is current (license number PRA02004), it exipres 09/12/06 and it's broker/officer is Christopher Yun Kim. You may be able to seek recourse through the California Department of Real Estate by filing a complaint or greavance. Go to their website at www.dre.ca.gov and see what can be done. All they need is your info and the the name of the PRLS to get started. Good luck!
