This is a detailed description of my complaint.

I wanted to reserve my round trip airtickets to India through this travel agent whose address and phone no. I found on the web (cheapindiaflights.com)

Falcon Wings travel Inc.

Registration # 2026759 (with the office of the Attorney General, California)

5777 W. Century Blvd. Suite #1465

Los Angeles, CA 90045

The travel agent, Mr. Khan (Aftab Khan, CEO) informed me that he had confirmed tickets for me on Lufthansa (leaving IAD on Jan 12th and reaching MAA on Jan 13th, returning to IAD on Feb 11th - confirmation # ZEXIOC). He advised me to send him the payment by check (I asked him if he accepted credit card payments and he said he does not). I mailed him the check on Oct 17th and have not received my ticket till date.

When I enquired about the non-receipt of tickets on Nov.3rd, he told me that he will be sending it soon and did not give me a fixed date. He gave me the confirmation number (ZEXIOC) for the reservation and my initial check with the airline had the reservation under my name. However, a repeat check on Nov 8th with the airline informed me that the reservation was canceled due to non-payment. In the meantime, I tried to get as much information about the travel agent online and was able to get two reports that gave me reason to believe that Mr. Khan was trying to defraud me.

1. A complaint hosted at the website www.rip-offreport.com , www.badbusinessbureau.com by a person named Roy from LA, California dated 15th April, 2002 indicating that he was defrauded by Mr. Aftab Khan of Falcon wings travel. (transcript attached).

2. A report (I do not remember if that was a journalist's report or a court report) where I read that Mr. Aftab Khan was indicted for charges of defrauding people over travel deals and air tickets in the city court of LA. (I saw this report once and I have been trying to retrieve the file online with my searches proving futile). I would like to check the city court records of LA and I am sure that I will find the report there filed with the court system in LA.

3. The other agent who I have spoken with at Falcon wings travel, indirectly pointed out to me that I have to be careful and that I have to force Mr. Khan to send me my ticket.

Since then, I have tried to contact Mr. Khan many times and on 11/10/03 he told me that he has a ticket for me, this time he gave me a new confirmation number (ZHRABE) and told me that I would receive the tickets before Thursday. Calls to Lufthansa on 11/11/03 and 11/12/03 confirmed that the tickets were not issued yet.

I filed a complaint disputing the transaction with my credit union (Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union on Nov.13th. Since then I have also been in contact with Mr.Khan about my ticket and after I suggested the possibility of legal action, he told me he will issue tickets at the earliest. I have called him many times a day almost every day and on Nov. 20th, I was informed he had sent the tickets. Calls to Lufthansa confirmed that a ticket number was entered and they weren't sure that the tickets have been issued or not. I was told to contact the travel agent, Mr. Khan and all I was told was that the ticket was in the mail.

On Nov. 26th, I was informed by the other travel agent at the same agency that I have spoken to, that the ticket number was entered in the system, but he was not convinced that it had been issued. After threatening legal action again on Dec 1st, Mr. Khan said that he would mail a duplicate ticket and give me the tracking # for the shipment on Dec 2nd. I was never able to reach him on Dec. 2nd despite my repeated attempts. I got hold of him on Dec 3rd and he gave me a tracking number which I have been trying to use online on the DHL web tracking system to no avail (the message that I get is that the tracking number is not a valid query).

Thanks
