Family Dollar ripoff Morris Minnesota
I worked for Family Dollar for over a year as an assistant manager. It was the worst mistake i ever made. I worked almost every weekend {when i was suppose to have every other weekend off} I would open and close the store numerous times without any help. The manager had her husband and kids unloading the truck and putting the merchandise away. And the manager would lie about his/her time sheets. He/She would say he/she worked all day when infact he/she was never even there and get paid a salary for hours never worked. I worked the hours.
Tell the workers who dont have keys if the dm calls tell him im with someone or something like that. I guess the straw for me was when i unloaded the truck and hurt my back. I never reported it because i did not want to get anyone in trouble. That was my second mistake. I continued to work several months until my doctor told me i had severe nerve damage and i can hardly walk.
Assistant managers get the worst of it i think because we are doing all the work and getting poor pay. The manager seems to think they can do what ever and not get into any trouble and for the most part they dont. Our DM was and is the worst. You could tell him something and he would not believe you. I hope no one goes threw the stuff i had to for Family Dollar there is so much more to say but what good would it do? Now that im gone i see the new *ss. manager having to work all the time and where is the manager not in the store.
