Please say you didn't give him any personal information. This is a very common scam. Where they usually threaten you that you are about to be sued or arrested. These "scare" tactitics are illegal in the US. The problem is that these people are most likely in a foreign country. As you have figured out you never took a loan from this company. If they call back let them know you will be contacting the police and reporting them. After they give you a few "choice" words they will probably hang up and never call again. In the mean time contact the fraud department of your bank ASAP. Explain the situation letting them know that your Debit Card number may have been comprimised and you need it cancelled and a new number issued. This should keep them from taking anything out of your account. Just remember you will have to update any other legitimate companies you have your old debit card number with for things such as Auto-Pays.
