If people only think 1 step ahead (you didn't even get thar far before you smelled this scam) that the US Gov't isn't going to a 3rd party to give out grants. If a person is eligible he would get it for free by applying to the US Gov't. I guess (maybe someone can verify this) is that when the scammer calls they have the routing numbers of the largest banks in the area and the person being called probably has a checking account at one of these banks, so it appears they know about the person. They don't know anything about you and don't give them anything. Question them: What is the grant for? How about I pay you when I get the grant? Are you a US Federal employee? What is your Federal id? What department are you from? How can I call you back? etc etc etc That is if you even want to waster your time. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!
