My sister-in-law fell prey to this very scam. These scum feed on people with bad credit. Never ever give anyone money up front for an opportunity to obtain unsecured credit cards. If your credit is bad you almost always will be refused unsecured credit from any bank. These scum tell you anything over the phone and then you always find out that they charged you an outrageous fee for applications to obtain secured credit cards only, something you can do yourself at any bank. If you still decide to go through these telemarketers, ask them to put everything in writing, I bet they won't, and if they refuse just hang up the phone. You must slowly build your credit rating back up until someone will take a chance on you for unsecured credit. Good luck
