In November 2002, my mother who is ill with lymphoma decided to get help from a debt management company to pay her bills. She found First National Credit Services on the internet. She set-up a debt repayment program thru them for $500 monthly. The first payment was automatically deducted from her account in November. She was told by First National that they would keep her first months payment as a deposit in the event that she decided to cancel the service before completing the debt management program.

They deducted payments from her checking account in December, January and February. In March before the payment was deducted from her account she called First National to ask how she could cancel their services. She was advised that cancellation had to be done in writing.

She decided to not cancel the service until after they had deducted her March payment and distributed the funds to her creditors. First National did deduct her March payment however, they never distributed the funds to her creditors. When my mother called First National they were very rude to her and refused to answer her questions.

The man she spoke to said "oh, you are the one who is cancelling your account." First National advised her that they would need to call her back. They never returned her call. She called them back numerous times and and they hung up on her every time. Her husband attempted to call them and was also hung up on. I called them the following day and was told by First National that they had no account under my mother's name.

I told them that they were lying to me. The woman I spoke to said oh, your mother cancelled. I said no, my mother intended to cancel but had not submitted her cancellation in writing. The woman said I would have to speak to a supervisor and took my name and number. Needless to say, my call was never returned.

Received money back thru ACH

My mother received her money back today by a reversal of the ACH debit made to her account. I am still filing a report with the Florida and California Attorney General. The business practices of this company are a joke. The only way to get them to call you back is to threaten them with legal action.
