I purchased a Remington rifle from First National Pawn of Great Falls, MT on 17 Sep 07 for $600. After a background check, on 24 Sep, I returned and was rudely told I had to provide the paperwork I had used to submit the background check. I told the clerk that I had gotten a phone call telling me I could get the gun with only my receipt. He told me in a belligerent manner that if I wanted the gun, I would do what he said. As I walked from the counter, he made a snide remark. I left to get the paperwork.

I returned and the clerk told me that until I fixed my attitude, he would not give me the rifle. I replied that he would give me the rifle or my $600. At this point, the clerk realized I had not pawned a rifle, but was getting a gun I had purchased. He stated there was no reason for me to have gone home to get paperwork. I then asked if they had a rifle sling since my receipt, initialed by S.D., stated that they owed me a quality sling that was not available when I initially bought the rifle. I told the clerk I was promised my pick of slings that came into the store. They did not have a nice sling at that time.

I returned three more times, and on 06 Nov, I saw a nice sling on their shelf. I talked to the store manager, Dan, showed him the receipt, and explained what S.D. had promised. Dan refused to fulfill their verbal/written obligation citing that if he gave me the sling, then the gun on the shelf would not have a sling.

First National Pawn of Great Falls, MT showed a total lack of customer service by failing to realize I was making an expensive purchase and not redeeming a pawned rifle. They showed an unprofessional attitude with snide and rude remarks, and used deceptive selling practices by promising a quality sling and then refusing to deliver. The store believes that since they have my money, they do not need to provide a sling, costing me $30 to purchase a sling. First National Pawn of Great Falls, MT has proven that they offer bad faith, misrepresentation, and a willingness to breach a verbal/written contract.

I have since contacted my attorney to formally request compliance by First National Pawn of Great Falls, MT and am considering a small claims law suit.
