On November 18, 2013 I purchase a car at Five Star Auto Dealership. The sale person who sale me the car was Mr. Carlos Santiago. The car cost was $14,800 plus $1,153.75 for taxes and $337.00 for the plates. Mr. Santiago told me that the car fax was clean and that it was only drove by one owner. He told me that he would do an oil change and he would check the car before delivering it to me. I purchase the car as a gift for my mom and when I pick it up the owner title was under my name, Maria A. Chevres, and the Insurance was under my mother’s name, Ana Molina. Mr. Santiago told me that my mother didn’t need to sign because the car was under my name. When I sign my name, he proceed to show me where I was going to sign for my mom. I pick up the car at 6:10 pm and return the car back to Mr. Carlos Santiago at 7:45 pm that same day because the engine light turn on. I told him that he said to me that the car was safe so why was the engine light turning on, his answer was that he had put the wrong gas. I told him that I just drove the car to my mother’s house. I told him I didn’t want the car, to not cash the check and that he lied and didn’t give me a valid receipt. I told Mr. Santiago I wanted my money back and I didn’t want the car anymore. Mr. Santiago took the car back and told me to come the next day to the dealer to get my money. The next day, I went to the dealer and he offer me another car, he guaranty me that this GMC Acadia was in perfect condition. I took the car and went to the GMC Repair Dealer located at Manhattan to get the vehicle check up and get a second opinion to see if Mr. Santiago allegations were true. I paid out of my own pocket $115.00 for that checkup and the GMC Repair Dealer gave me a written report that said that the GMC Acadia that Mr. Santiago gave me had transmission problems. I took the vehicle back to Five Star Auto and told Mr. Santiago about the transmission problem the vehicle had. I ask him for the plates so I could return them and told him I didn’t want to do any type of business with him anymore. He told me that he couldn’t give me the plates until he speak to his boss. They only gave me back $14,800, I lost $1153.75 of taxes, $337.00 of the plates and $200.00 on the insurance and registration. He told me that if I wanted my tax money back to file a claim to the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance but I have papers that say that the tittle have not yet been issued. I have papers that prove that what I state is true and that Five Star Auto Dealership and Mr. Carlos Santiago not only lied, they scammed me.
