I started working with FixYa.com in April 2008, answering questions posted by online customers. These customers apparently pay FixYa to have their questions about personal electronics posted on their site. Various technicians supposedly "employed" by FixYa pose solutions in a consultant capacity to posted questions. According to FixYa stated terms, the "employed" technicians are to have their final solutions offered and accepted then tallied for that month.

Then, according to a variable pay scale and expertise rating, each technician is to be issued monitary earnings payable during the following month. Thus, I use the term "employed". I had attained a rating of "Wiz" (next to highest "Guru"), with 239 solutions for April and May.

I never received a single cent for my offered and accepted solutions in June. When I inquired about this by e-mails to FixYa expert support four or five times, no one will acknowledge or offer a reason why I was never paid. I would think in the interest of professionalism, they should at least, tell me why rather just ignoring me. I am a retiree on very limited income and had hopes to suppliment this by offering a wealth of technical knowledge to help others.

I am sorry rulds but the TRANSCRIPTS of your work that I posses would lead any normal person to a single conclusion and that your being cut from premium access was long overdue.

Incorrect incomplete answers were just part of a long (very long) list

That list of yours, and others transgressionswere eventually passed directly to Yaniv by a group of more quality conscious experts because lauren had hidden a lot of information from him. This issue has now been addressed and as a direct result of many of the better experts Fixya is taking a hard line on the poor quality "espurts" such as yourself.

As you may or may not be aware ther is also a new program (FixYa PRO) that Ed was pushing for so long where the pay scale will reflect the REAL skills of a higher quality expert.

I did hear that such as yourself would be EXCLUDED from that program too.

FixYa is trying to clean up its act by effectivly killing BSE (Bu!! s**t Experts) and you were simply a casualty in that clean up as you stated above andI wish them well both in the clean up and the new program.

I am NOT excluded from any of the premium programs in any way and have recently received a mail confirming that fact.

As you and others know, I too can not log into the lounge or partake of any chats! Woooooohoooooooo!

I guess I am not one of those what you call BSE's I stated my opinion of this issue many times. We both have bumped heads in the past, shoot I know where your going with your complaint.

Bottom line I was not in it for a living if I was I would certainly not be on this board agreeing to disagree.

Lauren has cut allot of premium expert accounts from chats, and that is what most wanted and that is what they got.

I waited until they got back with me on a reason, let alone they cannot provide one. They say due to a comprehensive review certain experts got the cut.

Did you really think that you could pay $9.99 and someone on the other end making $2.00 for your question was going to be a professional?

There are a handful of excellent experts on the site but they have left because they were tired of wasting their efforts on fighting bad advice by non-experts. The guidelines are running the rest off. These guidelines are set to protect the individuals with no credentials which are the "money makers" of the site.

The site doesn't verify any "experts" credentials and most of the non-experts are just trying to make a dime. The real experts will be found in the free questions. They get the satisfaction of helping others. The paid and free questions are available to everyone so you may get one good answer (if your lucky) and the rest is garbage. Then you have the real experts that get the people that want free advice and refunds, thus the reason for Luaren's email above. Too many refunds to good experts make the site worthless for experts, non-experts and consumers.

I don't blame the "wanna be experts" though. The gates are wide open to accept anyone that can type, search, cut and paste. I blame the cheap skates that roam the web looking for free answers and getting upset because they have to actually take their broken piece of junk into a real repair center in the end.

 You know what they say

"You get what you pay for!"

On another note:

The name of the site is decieving as well. There is no way that I can tell you how to fix your TV when you don't even own a screwdriver or know what you are doing. The consumer will blame the expert in this case and here flows the refunds.

I am still currently one of the FY EXPERTS

They have recently introduced a blanket ban for any criticism in ANY form.

Experts are no longer allowed to voice any concerns.

The CM LAUREN CHANG. has banned anything and everything and fails to even provide evidence of the reasons she deletes not only comments in the FixYa lounge but answers and even questions where people haveasked for refunds.

 

This in the vain hope of covering up the many poor business practices they are staring to engage in.

Lauren Chang recently issued a refund statement to experts

"Hi all,

Support has been noticing some Experts giving out incorrect info to customers lately, and asked me to refresh everyone on how to handle refund requests.

If a customer mentions or requests a refund:

DO NOT tell them that they will get a refund. This makes it very hard for Support to refuse a refund request.

DO direct the customer to send an email to [email protected]. This email address should only be used by customers. Experts should email [email protected] or myself.

DO NOT get angry with the customer or behave unprofessionally. This will turn a potential refund into a sure thing.

DO NOT simply ignore the request, or any requests that you see on the site. If you see a potential refund in the works, please email [email protected] or myself.

DO keep in mind that FixYa will always try to avoid giving out a refund. However, refunds and chargebacks cannot be prevented, even when an Expert has provided good assistance. This is part of the cost of doing business and, while it's something we always regret, it something that will happen occasionally.

If you are found guilty of saying anything against FY they cut off access to the higher paid premiums. I have been trying for two month to get to the root cause of why I cannot get a chat and have tried different computers and internet connections etc. My BAN on cahts started at the same tim I got a ban from the lounge for being outspoken. many other experts are under continual threat of a ban too.

I MUST HAVE GAVE 340 OR SO SOLUTIONS AND LOTS OF THEM GOT PAID CONFERMATIONS.

AND I NEVER GOT PAID A PENNY.THEY ARE IN VIOLATION OF LABOR LAWS IM SURE.

I AM GOING TO USE THIS TO WRITE OFF A LOSS ON TAXS NEXT YEAR.

NO WAY THERE GETTING OFF THIS EASY.

I WILL GET MY MONEY ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.

FIXYA IS A BIGRIPPOFF AND WILL NEVER TELL THE TRUTH.

THEY TOLD ME MY WAGES WERE ZERO OUT BECAUSE I WAS INACTIVE FOR 3 MONTHS.

THATS THE BIGGEST LIE EVER. I MAY HAVE NOT LOGGED IN FOR A FEW DAYS AT A TIME BUT I WAS ALLWAYS ACTIVE.

FREE SOLUTIONS AS WELL AS PAYED SOLUTIONS.

NOTICE THERES NO WAY TO QUIT THEY JUST KILL THE ACCOUNT LIKE NOTHING HAPPEND NOW THERES NO WAY TO SEE ANYTHING WITH MY ACCOUNT.

Fixya is a legitimate site that does pay out. You say you answered 200+ questions, but did you answer 50 in one category? You have to answer 50 questions in a single category to earn an export badge and then apply to start getting paid. You then will only get paid for the premium questions you answer after you've been approved for pay status.

I found the fixya site in 2008 in september and became a fixya expert. My user name at the fixya site WAS Azkeyz but now I've been banned. Mr.Bensadon used his CEO photo from fixya and posted it as his facebook profile I feel thats sufficent grounds to make the claim the Mr.Bensadon has a deadly dissorder that renders him helpless to form relations with people, that dissorder is called Narcissim, I didn't realise this untill I heard about the facebook in depth report on it's members and Narcissism. Mr.Bensadon may have serious mental dissorders which have caused this lack of communication with me. Help me Help fixya.

Hello, According to FixYa Expert Agreement, Expert's account are credited upon the earlier of (i) a confirmation by the user that its problem has been solved; or (ii) 7 days after Experts provide their answer to the user. We evaluate Expert's account on the first business day of each month with respect to the earnings of the preceding month. In the event that they have more than $50 of earned income in their account, FixYa will transfer their earnings within 30 days thereof to their account. FixYa reserves the right to remove pending earnings in an Expert's account in the event such Expert did not execute a registration form for a payment program and/or is not active for a period of more than 90 days. We could not find any expert with the name Van in our Expert list. If you'd like us to investigate the matter, please send us your FixYa nickname to [email protected].
