Florida Cancer Specialists MediCare Fraud Atlantis Florida
As a person who suffers from MS I made a appointment to have a drug named Tysabri infused at their facility. They first told me that I would have to come in for a consultation even though I have been receiving the medication for 7 years. I am covered by Medicare which only covers 80% of the cost leaving me with a $1102.00 expense. Biogen the makers of the medication qualified me to receive the medication for free. Florida Cancer Specialist stated to me and to Biogen that they will participate in the program. Well, when I showed up for my appointment I was told that even though the medication was free they were still going to submitt a bill to medicare and I will still have to pay the co pay of $1102.00.
If this isn't an example of medicare fraud what is. Needless to say I never received my infusion and now have to look for a new infusion facility.
