Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
In December '05, I received a collection letter from Florida First Financial, claiming I owed a $150 for an unpaid bill to 'Mold Tech', a Florida-based company that is unknown to me. FFF's letter was addressed to me c/o a business name at my home address, which never exsited here.

I called Florida First to determine what their letter concerned. My call was taken by a 'Robert Mills', who immediately began threatening me with garnishment, foreclosure of my home, towing of my car and several other 'legal action' threats.

I attempted to explain that I had no knowledge of the company (Mold Tech) they claimed to represent, but that the business name his letter was addressed to in c/o me was actually a former tenant residing at my apartment complex who owned a kennel at the local greyhound racetrack.

Mills then screamed that the unpaid amount was for an air-conditioning repair bill and that I am liable for the tenants debts. Mills' then accused me of lying, stating that it was actually me using a fictitious business name and that I personally incurred the air-conditiong repair charge doing business under an assumed name.

I then tried to tell Mills that the person who was using the business name had vacated his apartment here 6 months earlier and that I had no knowledge of that persons whereabouts. I further explained, when I could get a word in edgewise, that I had no legal connection to the former tenants business.

In between my trying to explain this to Mills', he repeatedly was yelling and cursing at me, threatening me with court action and foreclosure of my home etc.

Mills' was so out of control that I hunp up on him. A week later I received another letter, then another, and then several harrassing phone calls from other individuals at FFF.

I called FFF again and tried to sort out this mess to no avail. I was again threatened and cursed at.

I have since learned that FFF fraudulently represents themselves as attorneys, that they have been sued by the Florida State Attorney General for improper business practices, that they have a history of abusing people allegedly owing money, that persons employed at FFF use 'desk names', fictitious personal names when sending threatening letters or calling people, rather than use their real names, and other horrific acts of harrassment.

FFF is a complete sham and no one, unless actually owing money to their clients, should fork over any money to FFF. Instead, any legitimate debt owed, in my opinion, should be paid directly to the debtor, not FFF.
