Ford And Ford Dealers ripoff - Buyer Beware!! We were sold an extended warranty that isn't honored anywhere except their place of business Lake Elsinore California
My husband and I bought a 2003 F150 truck a couple of months ago. Since that time we moved to a different city about 80 miles from the dealership where we purchased the truck.
We have driven the truck approximately 6000 miles. It now whines real loud when you drive it over 40 miles per hour and the entire left side of the truck is in excess of 1 inch lower than the right side (and getting worse).
Last month we took the truck to Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park, Ca and they changed the gears in the rear end. That took four days. But they could not address the leaning problem because they do not have a body shop on the premises. They were accommodating and gave us a loaner car while ours was being worked on.
I called Ford Customer Relations and they told us to take the car to Keystone Ford in Norwalk, Ca. We made an appointment and this morning when we got there they said we don't have a Ford extended warranty and they don't honor the one sold to us at Elsinore.
Again I called Customer Relations and they said sorry. That is a warranty sold to you by the dealership and we have nothing to do with that. You have to call around and find a dealership with a body shop in your area that will honor what you have. That is a sales issue and all our dealerships are independently owned. I was not allowed to talk to a supervisor.
If I had been on vacation and two thousand miles from home the warranty would not be any good to me at all. I was never told I was not being sold a warranty not backed or honored by Ford.
