Robert Benavidez and the Foundation for educational success are horrible liars with no ethics and complete frauds. Do NOT ever do business with Robert Benavidez and the Foundation for Educational Success. Myself and several others were "hired" by Robert to raise money for a "celebrity" charity event in Las Vegas. Robert was supposed to pay us half of our money a couple weeks in and the other half upon completion. Well, as you can imagine, when the time came to pay us, he made up some excuse that his company checks hadn't come in. This excuse lasted the entire time, with every few days, him re-iterating it.
However, during that time, he paid his employee, Jim Clinton with a check. Hmmm...wonder where that check magically appeared from.....during that time when he said he couldn't pay us because he didn't have any checks. After that time, he told us, on almost ten different occasions that he was going to pay us by certain dates, all of which came and went. Robert DID however pay another employee of his, Darren Beck, who, raised NO money and brought in NO items for the silent auction. So this person, Darren Beck, and Jim Clinton, Robert paid, thinking that none of the rest of us would find out about it, while he was lying to us and saying he didn't have checks and that no one was getting paid, and if someone did, it would be us first.
Suddenly Robert claims that he has no money because he had to pay for the charity event up front. Problem is, that we were in on the meeting with the hotel (which must have slipped his mind) while they were negotiating the price and knew EXACTLY how much the cost was. The cost that another friend of ours was asked to put on his credit card that morning for the event (Robert must have thought we were dumb or something), so Robert didn't actually have to pay ANYTHING - Sean did. SO why did Robert use the excuse that he didn't have money because he had to pay? Hmmmm......
The event bought in some money, although not much and none of Robert's supposedly "celebrity" friends showed up. SO where did the money that WAS raised go? Hmmm....
Robert even tried to sell some of the donated silent auction items on ebay to make extra money!!!
NEVER DONATE ANYTHING TO ROBERT BENAVIDEZ OR THE FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS if you don't want it to end up on ebay!!
He didn't even pay the entertainment and is about to be sued because he cost the head of the Bella Strings group thousands out of pocket to pay her people but was never paid back by Robert. He owes US tens of thousands and it cost us out of pocket to live in Vegas for a month to raise money for him.
We are currently getting a class action suit against him.
Robert Benavidez is a liar and fraud with no credibility and cannot be trusted. While he drives around in a Mercedes and owns two homes, he claims he has no money to pay us.
I personally should have just kept all the items and money I raised instead of giving it to this crook. His event was a miserable failure, with only 80 guests signed in.
If any of the Foundation members are reading this, you had better press Robert to take care of what he owes to the people he employed or the Foundation will be sued along with Robert himself. We tried negotiating SEVERAL times and Robert made tons of promises and always broke his word so his word has no meaning and all we see him as is a huge liar.
For all you out there looking for info about the Foundation for Educational Success or Robert Benavidez...don't walk, RUN away as fast as you can and do not align yourself with this sinking ship. Robert has no character, and in the minds of all his hired outside sales team from the "Be a Hero Gala", he is going to go down for this. We tried being nice, now we don't care if we take everything from him. He deserves it.

So the representative from New Mexico Coalition of Charter Schools that Robert was working with emailed me this:
"i have been an employee of the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools (a non profit for education in Albuquerque), which is where i met Robert because he worked there for many years. i was able to work in Vegas because our CEO in NM was lied to by Robert because he made it seem like the Coalition would benefit from my going to Vegas.
in my opinion- he's been lying to everyone, and he is in deep debt and refuses to acknowledge any of it. Robert has been telling a completely different story to people in New Mexico. He said that everyone that was in Vegas was a 'volunteer' that worked on the gala. By now, everyone here at the New Mexico Coalition for Charter Schools (where i still work) sees that he has lied to us all.
i am so sorry to hear that this happened to you- i know how hard you were working (along with everyone else there) and i hope that eventually Robert will reep what he is sowing.
robert has yet to acknowledge to me that he has done anything wrong or even put me in a tough position."
Yet more proof that Robert and this company are complete liars.
I personally raised a LARGE amounts of donations for the event....including 2 donated LASIK eye surgeries. Now remember, this event was supposed to have at least 500 people....and ended up only having 80, the majority of whom were member of the foundation and guests....(so the actual number of real attendees was in the dozens if that much). So after the failure...like I said, Robert started selling donated stuff on eBay...and the suddenly on her Facebook, Robert's girlfriend starts thanking Robert for the LASIK surgery he gave her! Now this could be some crazy coincidence, but I'm pretty sure that he just gave one of the surgeries I raised for the FOUNDATION to his girlfriend. So in other words, I think Robert feels like it's okay to pocket any Foundation donations for personal use....think about this before you donate anything to the Foundation...you may actually just be paying Robert's mortgage or giving him a nice gift for him to give his girlfriend
So last week, of all things, Robert texts me out of the blue and says that he's now resigning and the Foundation is going out of business because this report has made it impossible to raise money. He said 22 employees are out of business and am I happy. I told him of course not, but if he had paid us, instead of lying to us....I never would have posted this to save other people
Here's the thing though. I think he's just lying again, to get me to take this down. Soooooooo......if you ever do business with the Foundation for Educational Success and Robert Benavidez after today....he'll have just proved my point about him being a habitual liar.....again, he told me that Foundation for Educational Success is ending and 22 people are out of work. (which let's face it, he made his bed and now has to sleep in it)
But overall, Robert, if you're reading this, I want you to know that I forgive you. There's no question about your shady practices, but I forgive you for what you did, and all the money you owe me and others because life's too short to hold grudges forever and I've moved on....I hope this is your wake up call. I used to hate you but I don't anymore. I forgive you and believe you can change your ways and do some good
