Frigidaire, GE Contract PCB Lemon Electronic Dryer, Company denies problems No recalls ripoff Nationwide
I had originally bought my Frgidaire Gallery Series Dryer back in April of 2004, Model GLEQ942CS. The day after the warranty the dryer broke down more frequently late April 2005, hmm okay I will replace the control board at a cost of 195 dollars and a thermostat $ 50. It worked fine for 2 months then the thermostat failed, replaced that. It worked fine for another month then the thermostat failed again, replaced it again. It worked fine upto now.
Today now I have to replace the control board again because the heater coil relay is not being triggered by the circuitry which was desinged as a basic stamp programmable logic controller. I found that the PIC controller is corrupted on both control boards I have, NOW HOW IN THE WHORLD AM I GOING TO GET THIS REPROGRAMMED? Not by Frigidaire oh no they do not care and do not stand beind their products.
I bought a $490 dollar dryer, paid for inconveniences when it was broken down under warranty and out of warranty $190, paid for one control board $195, paid for 3 thermostats $150. I already spent more than the dryer is worth and this is the last straw. This dyer is a piece of crap with an made in italy GE control board that is built worse than class 1 grade, if I QA'ed these boards they would fail.
I have a lemon from day one and I just want a reliable dryer and I see that Frigidaire is not reliable and will never own a GE or Frigidaire brand or daughter brand ever again. Not only is the dryer a lemon Frigidaire nor GE will respond to my calls, I have been hung up on sevral times.
This dryer broke down 6 times in it's first year, 3 times this year. If this were a car, Frigidaire would be in serious troble.
