Complaint Review: Gallagher Bassett - Nationwide

ok, here is the deal. I had a guy drive a tractor over a 20ft embankment and pinning my leg against the backside of a backhoe bucket resulting in the following:

4 fractures + 1 compound fracture just belowe the knee

completely dislocated the knee from knee socket (only thing keeping it there was some skin)

ok now for the fun part. My wife was due to give birth in 3weeks. I worked for manpower who used gallagher bassett as thier TPA.

2weeks after my accident I was sent home in a wheelchair, Unable to walk or do anything other than sit on my couch or in bed. I had a newborn and a wife who was on maternity leave so only bringing in 60% of her pay. Mind you she had to go early because of my accident. I had to go to everyone of my doctors to get letters clearly stating that it was medically neccassary for me to have a wheel chair ramp. (hello, I couldn't walk and i was told I was probably going to lose my leg....oh yeah I am in a wheelchair living in a house with a raised foundation.

Doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out I need a ramp) My checks don't come ontime and when I asked if they had Direct deposit to correct this they basically acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. I finally got my ramp 3months after my accident. I had to go through the same thing for my physical therapy. Had to get letters saying that it was not only nessessary but also where the doctors wanted me to go.

Now I want to make this very clear. Manpower has been great. they even hired a personal manager to help me with my problem. The problem isn't my employer but thier corperate insurance company.

Back to my report, It is now november and I have been moved to a new doctor. Now for the past 5months I have been told that I will never ride my 1974 650 special, drive a standard, climb a latter or run after my children. I have been seeing the doctor that put my leg back together and told me that I should have lost it. I have had 9 operations on the area from the left knee down to my ankle. I have 3 skin grafts. I lost 2 of the 3 main muscles in my calf and the doctor that has done all of those operations said that I will an done, finished, my leg will be good for walking that is it. and probably with a limp or a cane for the rest of my life.

I saw the new doctor today, for all of like 10mins. tells me my knee is screwed, one of my fractures isn't healing right and I need one of my skin grafts fixed and in the same breath fills out a form that in big letters say "WORKMAN'S COMP INSURANCE UPDATE AND REPORT" and clears me for work behind a desk. I am used to making good money remodeling homes and doing construction. I have all of my own tools. I have no office expierence not to mention that without a degree you are not going to make money in an office. and this b*****d has the gull to authorize me to go back to work. This guy made no shame at advertising that he is on the payroll of my insurance company.

My workers comp adjuster doesn't return phone calls, I have had my antibiotics and blood thinners denied but my bandages ok's at the pharmacy. anyone that has been through an operation knows how important blood thinners are when it comes to clots killing you.

I will update as my saga continues. I am so glad that there is a place where I can vent and say what I want to about these cheap, coniving, penny pinching SOB's. Thanks.
