Garden Central Owner, Scott Pittman came to my home as a landscape architect and drew plans for a relatively simple garden space. Upon agreement, I signed a contract for what amounted to be $2,400.00 per his suggestion on what would thrive in a very sun-filled space. Included was the delivery of good dark soil, limelight hydrangeas, a couple of low growing evergreen bushes and flowering plants. When the job was completed, I realized that the goods and the time of installation should not have exceeded $800.00 and even that would have been a bit much! The total cost of the plants could not have amounted more than $400.00, but this guy is a total rip off for sure! Berkley Michigan
Owner, Scott Pittman arrived at my home and drew up plans for a relatively simple landscape design for my front yard. He came with confidence and I trusted his credentials . . . a smooth talker! The job was set to be started and completed about two months after I signed the contract, and I was truly hoping for a beautiful transformation. Afterall, I agreed to pay $2,400.00 for what I thought would be a WOW! factor job. Scott called a couple of weeks after our initial meeting and the installation was moved up way ahead of schedule, so I didn't have to wait two months before the installation took place. He arrived in a timely fashion with one other worker, and completed the job within a couple of hours. When the job was all said and done, I realized that I was truly taken by this landscaper. The delivered goods could not have amounted to more than $400.00 and the labor itself was $2,000.00? What the hell was I thinking??? Most everyone that I have discussed this with just shake their heads! The delivery of goods for a 14'x3' space included: two small evergreen bushes, 2 dwarf hydrangea plants and six low flowering plants. The flowering plants that he delivered and recommended were not even supposed to be planted in a full sun space . . . and that's where he planted them! They are more for shade loving areas.
After about a month, I called to complain that the plants were not doing well, and Scott got very defensive. He agreed to come by and look at the area, but offered absolutely no customer service satisfation . . . no refund and no swapping out for other plants. He was boastful about his credentials and especially the fact that he makes a lot of money! No kidding!!! He even went so far as to share with me a bank receipt for $18,000.00 of which he made on another job! All I can say is, always price things out before you fall victim to expensive purchases and get referrals from others. Garden Central will soak you for their landscaping services!
