GC Services Limited Partnership, a parasitic collection agency based at 6330 Gulfton, Houston Texas has recently appeared on the radar screen of privacy and consumer advocates as being in violation of the FCRA (Fair Collection Reporting Act) and in violation of state and federal laws regarding collection practices under the statute.

GC Services has been alleged to employ sub-standard collection agents in violation of FCRA and immigration laws. These oversights have apparently now come back to bite GC Services, as consumer complaints regarding FCRA violations and instances of alleged outright fraud have multiplied exponentially.

Samples of potential litigants may be accessed here:

http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/2/prweb203757.htm

Following direct contact with a GC Services collection representative, the author not only found the representative completely ignorant of the FCRA, she asked, what is it. It would appear that greed and outsourcing are catching up with these fly-by-night collection agencies.

Southeast Asia News advises consumers to peruse the FCRA laws as applicable to federal and state statutes.

http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fcra.htm.

Furthermore, under FCRA law, consumers need only invoke FCRA non-contact to obtain relief from predatory agencies such as GC Services. This is accomplished by simply telling the caller or writer: I am invoking my rights under the FCRA and ordering you to cease and desist calling or writing my residence or workplace regarding this issue. By FCRA law, compliance is mandatory.

All potential litigants are encouraged to contact Southeast Asia News for possible class action suit against GC Services.
