Complaint Review: G&D Auto Sales - Tampa Florida

G&D Auto SALES Sucks! *Consumer Alert G&D Auto sales Tampa used car dealership is a fraud! Rip off alert RE: G&D Auto sales Car-dealer fraud is plaguing our country. Auto buyers are being taken to the bank to fill the pockets of unscrupulous dealers. The tactics used are so sly that even informed consumers who did their homework are being taken for hundreds, and often thousands, of dollars. Don't let this happen to you, don't let G&D Auto sales rip you off, Don't buy anything from them!! They sell cars that don't run, when you test drive them they seem perfectly fine, the next day you will be out of a down payment and a ride, because I guarantee you it won't run. Even though this is not a real dealership they called my insurance company and demanded I have full coverage when fl states PIP is all you legally have to have. The car was worth less than 500.00. Why would I need full coverage? They harassed my insurance company and tried to add themselves to my insurance, my insurance company called me constantly trying to force me to have full coverage. In the meantime the car broke down as I was driving it home the same day I made a purchase. I'm out of 15,000 bucks and no ride. So I've paid for a car $1500.00 dollars that I only drove for maybe 10 minutes. I attempted to contact the owner several times; I called and asked if he would be there on 6 occasions on those 6 occasions I visited after calling and making sure he'd be there. I went down there 6x in a two week period. After the two weeks I realized he was hiding from me. On the 7th visit I waited from opening 9am till 4pm in the afternoon almost closing time to discuss the matter, He denied that there was any problems with the car refused to fix it and wouldn't talk to me. I cussed him out and told him I wasn't going to make payments on a car I never drove or could drive. I then went home and made several calls to the BBB and consumer service dept as well as making 50 million blogs and post. I may not get my money back but I can sure fight back on the internet warning others of him. The worst part about this story is I only had the car three weeks of which only 10 minutes it was drivable, G&D auto sales reposed the vehicle on the third week, I don't see how this is legal. Now they have the car, the down payment and want more money. I have been sent to a collection agency, for 4,500. First of all I never owed that much the car was sold to me at 4500 and I made a down payment of 1500.00. Just so you know the car was not worth even a penny, some of the bottom parts fell out and were hanging on the side walk, the electronic key was taped together which fell apart as well and didn't work. The speedometer had been tampered with as well as the mileage as all the dials just went crazy spinning around, the transmission wouldn't switch gears, the muffler was bad the engine was smoking and there was gas and oil leaks not to mention the steering was out for the 10 minutes I drove the car I had no control over the steering wheel I almost was killed. My 5 year old daughter was in the car and I was pissed with G&D auto sales. Someone could have gotten hurt really bad.
