German Star Motors Inc Deceitful, crooks, liars, bad business, theives Markham Ontario
I was looking for a van for our growing family and had been looking for some time. I came across a very interesting ad on Kijiji.ca from German Star Motors for a very nice van for a very good price. It was advertised as a local trade-in with 76,879 Km. I called them and spoke with Fay, one of their salesmen. When I asked for details on the van Fay said that it was a local trade-in, in very good condition and had a clean carproof with no accidents or other issues. He seemed a little annoyed by me phoning which I figured was because it was toward the end of the day and he probably just wanted to head home for the day.
After arranging with a buddy to travel to Markham with me for the next morning I decided to search for reviews on this dealership. With an overwhelming amount of poor reviews, I decided to purchase a carproof. YIKES! Am I ever glad I that I did.
Turns out this vehicle is an American van that was a daily rental had a damage report on it (only $1416.05 but still) and the last time the odometer was recorded it had 77,148 MI (124,158 Km), so the odometer had obviously been rolled back and changed over to KM from MI. Also in the carproof, there is no record of being imported into Canada, but had been bought and sold at several different auctions in the USA.
So needless to say...I bought the van...NO, of course I didn't:) I did however try the next day to get a hold of German Star Motors to give them an ear-full. I got through to their secretary who said that they were very busy and would have a salesman call me back. After a long time had gone by I called again to inquire why I had not heard from anyone yet, she told me I'd have to wait another half hour or so before I did. Two days later, I have still never had a call back. Oh I should mention that I made no indication to their secretary that I was upset, but that I was looking for information about the van.
That’s my story; I hope that it may help someone else save their precious time and money by staying far away from German Star Motors. Thanks to those who have written similar reviews that helped me.
I do have pdf's of their ads and of the carproof I purched.
