A Pierce County dog breeder admitted Friday that what she claimed on the internet were championship dogs were not as advertised. Bernadette Vohs pleaded guilty to eight crimes, including theft. She has been sentenced to probation and a ten year ban from buying and selling dogs. Vohs was calling herself Jackie Greatsinger when the KING 5 Investigators went undercover nearly two years ago. KING 5 had spoken to customers around the world who bought dogs through her website, Greatsinger Danes. Previous Investigators reports 6/23/07: Animals seized from jailed kennel owner 6/21/07: Graham kennel owner arrested 4/21/06: Breeding deception Many of the animals were not the purebreds Vohs claimed, but even worse, many were unhealthy and several died. After the KING story aired, Pierce County authorities raided Vohs' compound in Graham, Wash., seizing nearly 60 animals, many of them in filthy conditions and poor health. Officials say the county animal welfare system has been going broke trying to care for the dogs while Vohs' case was pending. Friday, the judge tabled a decision whether to sell the dogs to try to get some of the taxpayer money back. ____________ So WHO was the LIAR Jacki???? ME??? Don't think so.... :) It took a while... but what goes around...comes around. I would keep my nose clean if I were you, they won't be as lenient (with house arrest & probation)next time they see you. At least they did order you not to buy or sell dogs for 10 years.

I was looking into purchasing a Great Dane and amongst my considerations was Greatsinger. I mentioned this to a coworker who pointed out that they just saw mention of this breader on local television. Shelly Newman must have alot of time on her hands, even though this is almost two years ago and THE FACT remains that the stud HAS A HEALTHY heart, with all test to prove so. Shelly still goes into chat rooms, this web site , whatever she can to tell the same old story. The FACTS remain that she has no contracts stating she would receive a AKC registration, it clearly stated CKC. This is person also has been placed on several lists to breeders not to sell to. So SELLERS BEWARE of SHELLY NEWMAN. This is one lady who just wants one thing money and slander, and yes she will see a court room soon. This woman is a complete JOKE

My 8 month old puppy was left with my Veterinarian while we went out of town. The vet tech went in to feed the animals at about 7 am and heard a horrifying howl, she turned and saw my puppy collapse. ( an 8 month old Dane is not small, he was about 100 lbs) In the seconds that it took for her to get across the room, he was already dead. Not a normal thing to happen to a pup... Our devasted vet immediately called us and asked permission to take his body to the University of Georgia for a Necropsy. I contacted the breeder of the Stud that produced my puppy in late 2004 to try and figure out how I could get AKC paperwork for him since we wanted to show. ( I could not get any info from Greatsinger, she told me to stop contacting her and threatened to sue me) The Stud's breeder informed me that Romeo, the father of my pup, had been sold to Jacki Greatsinger/Bernadette Vohs on a limited AKC registration due to poor conformation and a heart murmur. While Greatsinger NOW actually admits for the first time that my dog is actually dead, I was never offered ANYTHING. All I received in response to his death was a filthy email sent on July 10th 2004 claiming I was slandering her. It is a joke that Jacki is claiming that she was never served. She can review it all she wants. Again, our complaint was for Fraud, Breach of Contract, Breach of Warranty, Harassment, Extortion and Defamation. It was not simply about the registration... she threatened me with a harassment lawsuit in an email she sent to me on November 3rd 2003.(13 days after I received my pup... just because I was asking for my AKC paperwork!)After that it all just got worse...and there is too much to tell. She claimed she had friends "setting me up" in chat rooms in that email she sent on July 10th 2004. So it was not me that started the internet chatter. I do not anticipate that I will be getting sued for harrassment in the up coming months. If she does however attempt to clog up the judicial system with this bogus charge, I will be more that happy to fly out the Washington to countersue. Despite what she has claimed here, I DO have the paperwork to back up my statements. Shelley

Yes it is true that her great dane did pass away, It is true this person went to court and received a judgement. the part that is not stated, it that the dane in question was left at a boarding facility time of death, the report after death did not say this was part of the breeding, The is wriiten proof of health hearts on both parents. The death of this dane is sad yes. the clients where offered a another replacement puppy according to the guarantee even though there was no written proof, as much as the client feels the report states an unhealthy heart, the fact remains it is only stated in the report that the client herself said the parents heart was un healthy.which is not true and documents to proove this. It is also a fact that greatsingerdanes/jacki vohs was never served papers on this case and the judgements are under review at this point. Shelly newmann along with two other clients claimed there case together, the other client has a perfectly healthy dane and wanted over 15,000 because she was not happy about her registration. Shelly newmann claims that greatsinger used the internet for harrassing her, But the fact is shelly newman has used every dog chat room to tell her story to anyone who wants to hear it, she has called even the pet stores, friends of greatsinger and now finds herself getting sued for harrassment in the up coming months. Shelly Newmann can NOT provide one contract from jacki vohs/greatsingerdanes promising her a full AKC registration.
