Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My grandfather who is 81 years old was approached one day by a door to door salesman asking him if he would like to switch to Green Mountain Electric. He said no thanks and thought that was it. Well this was about 2 months ago. Last week his electricity got torned off on him. Turns out the sales man, im guessing in order to make a commision, put down that he said yes to the switch. So they switched over his services without his written or verbal concent. He has had several heart attacks and he has an emergency responce unit powered by his electricity, so if he has an emergency all he needs to do is press that button and help will get there shortly. When confronting the Green Mountain people, we were hung up on a few times and screamed at. Finally we were told, "im sorry this happens alot".!! So we they said they would provide us with a document they claim has his signature. I called to confirme if they had such a paper and got yelled at and hung up on again. Well we got the papers in the mail and guess what???? THE SIGNATURE IS FORGED!. He has had the same handwriting since i can remember and we have all the nececery documents to prove so. So bottom line is that this company changed an elderly mans electric company without his written or verbal concent and provided us with falcified documents that were forged. And this mistake could very well have been fatal considering his heart condition.

I will say the excuses saying the Green Mountain is a good company I think not.  Rep just came by house and I told I wasn't interested. He wouyldn't shut up. So I blasted him on there scamming and deceit. He defended it. I told him 17-20 % of energy on grid is wind power. But you GME make people believe all power coming to my house is from the Wind mills. He said yes.  I said but it goes to the generation plant that provides 80% coal/natural gas etc not wind.  He said Oh no all your power is wind.   Am I stupid or is He. He tried to break it down that it goes on grid at 17-20% no matter what.   I use another power company and guess what I am getting 17-20% wind energy no matter what. No matter what unless Green Moutain has there own power lines and generation plant/distribution facility. I think not. He left with me calling Him a LIAR.

Green Mountain used to sell in a local HEB store. 2 years ago. Had same conversation and they ffollowed me to the store. THe y no longer sell at that HEB. They were LIARS then and LIARS now. The company evidently encourages because its the same methods.GME are liars filled. I am getting 17-20% wind energy without having Green Mountain. Because it all goes to the local power plant for distriubution.

misunderstanding regarding forms

it is very likely as i have seen this often that the elderly gentleman thought he was signing up for more information, as many people think that's all the form is. If the form is read however, it explains it is NOT more information but intent to switch. Some agents do not explain this clearly when the customer is signing. Services are switched within 7 days of signing the form if the utility check is passed. As an agent we only get paid if the client does not cancel the plan. While i can't be positive this IS the case, I've seen it happen enough to believe it is very likely so. As far as the forgery, that is all together another case, it's likely the agent forgot to get the signature or the customer changed his mind last minute upon understanding exactly what i described above. IF that is the case, then the agent is to blame, not green mountain. Many don't realize this, but the agents are not employed by green mountain directly, but are agents of another company all together. I tear up forms in front of the customers that deny me for this very reason and usually give them the part of the form containing their social so they know it will not be used. It always amazes me how a few bad agents/ phone reps can ruin the name of a good company.
