Buyers beware of this rude and obnoxious lender. I have had nothing but headaches and harassment from Green Tree since they took over the mortgage on my mobile home. They constantly send letters of threats to start reposession or foreclose on my loan with them. Even with a payment of 15 days late they threaten to take action to "collect all debts".

My mother and father are harassed regularly by these aggravating and worthless scumbags. Wish I had never used them as a reference now. This company is about the 3rd or 4th company to assume the mortgage on my home and by far the worse. Bank of America was far better a lender and more lenient. I have provided a phone number for them to reach me at but they never call it; they just keep harassing my elderly parents. When Green Point Credit was the mortgage holder, I sent them a letter once to express my concern for their harassment and got a letter from their San Diego Branch apologizing for the inconvenience and that it was not Green Point's policy to harass but it continued anyway.

Green Tree's customer service reps are the worst in the business and by far the rudest. A representative from the company once came to my home and demanded a payment of over $600--which I didn't have at the time--and said it would be ok to post date a check for 10 days later for that amount. Reluctantly I did (bad decision!), and she went and turned it in for immediate payment that hit my bank about 3 days later. Needless to say I then owed a service charge to them and my bank for a bounced check. That's something I will never do again...

I truly despise this company and highly warn all future buyers and mortgage seekers to steer clear of this terrible firm. I was told that this company actually pays it's employees a nice bonus for foreclosing on homes. What pride can a business take in this? I hope a class action lawsuit will soon surface on this incompetent business. I will surely join the ranks when it does.
