Haynes Fueniture Leather Furniture Damaged Virginia Beach, Virginia
I purchased a beautiful wood table and red leather sectional sofa for approximately $2400 from Haynes even though I had heard all of the stories about their scams and ripoffs. Since it was a cash transaction I wasn't concerned. Delivery was free and on time. After about a week I noticed "marks" on the sofa that appeared as if scratches had been painted that were unnoticed until they dried. It was very obvious that the leather had been "touched up" before it left the warehouse. I purchased a $200 leather warranty (more about that later) but this wasn't a warranty issue. I called the customer service number to report it as a manufacturing defect and request replacement of the damaged piece. Of course they sent out their "leather man" to look at it and take pictures.
A few days later someone called me to report that the markings were "natural" and they couldn't do anything about it. So, take this advice....if you purchase anything from Haynes, immediately inspect it with a MAGNIFYING GLASS. According to your sales contract, you have 3 days to report an issue. DO NOT purchase a warranty...even though the salesperson will LIE to you and tell you it is a "replacement" warranty; it IS NOT. My home was destroyed by fire and we're replacing EVERYTHING. I am so happy that only two items were purchased at Haynes. The prices in our high end furniture stores in Hampton Roads are worth it. The quality and customer service is fantastic and they don't bat an eye at replacing anything you're not completely satisfied with. I know from experiencing it.
