I paid approximately $900 for carpet and installation into a house being sold and under contract. The installers did not contact the Realtor before arriving at the house and entered while the carpenter was there. The carpet was installed without management or realtor supervision. The doors were removed to the bedroom and linen closet and not reapplied. Treshold metals strips and borders were not applied according to the buyers' request. The carpet was not stretched appropriately. Some areas were wrinkle or puckered. The installers tramped dirt over the newly installed carpet. The installers broke and knocked down the blinds in the bedroom and did not rehang. Last but not least the installers left a very large roll of carpet(approx. 6ft x 5ft or more) in the middle of the living room.

I reported this to the customer service department for carpet installation(Shauntae). I was told that she would inform her boss, who was not there at the time. The next day, I gave them a follow-up call and the person I talked to the day before was out sick and there was not there to help. They took a message to give to the manager again.

The third day, I called again, the initial person talked to was still out sick. Another message was given to have the manager call. I later called again and talked to the manager, who stated that someone would be sent to make the repairs mentioned above. I told them the urgency of getting this work done so that I can complete the closing contract of the house. The longer the house is vacant the more money I have spend. The managerinformed me that I would be contacted prior to their revisit.

One week from the last telephone contact, I called back to find out the status of the scheduled repairs and revisit. I was told that the manager(John) is not available and that they would have him call me. This time I speak to (Alice), who refuse to give me a last name.

I asked to be compensated for the repairs for expediency. The Buyer's bank inspection is due this week(12 Dec 03), but I've been trying to hold them off until all repairs are complete to get maximum value. The buyer of the house has moved out her apartment and is ready to move in before Xmas. The longer I wait to close on the house the more cost I accrued.

I am still waiting to hear from the manager of customer service to correct the problem. I am not a satisfied or happy customer. I need immediate action. Time is money in this case.

$900 to Carpet a WHOLE HOUSE?

You paid $900 to carpet an entire house? Even for a 2 bedroom home - This is CHEAP! So you cut corners and now you are upset that you got $900 worth of products/service. You got EXACTLY what you paid for. I do not feel sorry for you. Anyone should know that a cheap cost comes with a steep price. Your price of $900 got you inferior carpet and shoddy installation with no customer service. How do you think they were able to offer such a low price? Next time PAY a little more for a quailty job. I can just imagine how you must have cut corners on the other aspects of your house. Thank God (ME) that I live in a trailer and can drive away when I see a twister coming. .
