I am a new resident here in Richmond and I was drawn into the store because of its location. On 8/8/2003 I went into Haynes Furniture Store also affiliated with North Carolina Furniture Store,looking to furnish 3 rooms for my newly purchased home. Immediately I saw the furniture I wanted to purchase for my Office Space and with a little negotiation I purchased an office for over $3000.00.

I paid the entire amount in full the date of my purchase. Upon delivery I saw that there were some things wrong with the furniture. It was damaged with nicks and cracks every hinge of the furniture, and even a drawer bottom that is falling out. The Chair was not even the chair that I had selected in the showroom.

I even paid Haynes to deliver and construct the furniture and I got shotty work done. They installed the shelves without putting the appropriate washers in place and there were parts that were missing so it seemed. Well, the parts were not missing they were in the drawer on the other side of the desk and still need to be installed. I went back to the store the day of delivery and I spoke with the Sales Manager that worked with my to even arrange to purchase on more item for the office.

She heard me out and took my additional order. So I decide to go to the store, ask to speak to a manager concerning my furniture, and even return the new Hutch I had purchase. It took 1.5 hours for someone to take the time to refund my money and in the 2 hours that I stood there waiting to speak to a manager no one came.

The store manager Tom DeVore did not even call me back; I left in such disgust. To date NO ONE from Haynes furniture called me to disgust the inferior condition that my office was built or delivered to me. I am not sure what I can do to get the furniture I paid for repaired or replaced to the condition that I would expect to be with such an expensive purchase.

I am told that a service tech will be coming to repair my furniture however I can not see how he can repair cracks in the wood without replacing them. I am writing because I am sharing my experience with you. Haynes Furniture/North Carolina Furniture Company are a rip off! Stay away from these companies they are owned by the same group and I say hurt them where it counts and that is in their greedy pockets.

Customers need service and answers to address their concerns and it is unacceptable that a customer is ignored and have to go to insane to get the service they were suppose to be given in the first place.
