Received email confirming activation of a membership to Headwind Media INC and a $20 activation fee would be billed to my home phone bill.
The address was incorrect, not lived with mother for almost 2 years now, and my maiden name was used. Didn't think much of it because I had never heard of the site and thought it was spam.
My mother call me two weeks later about a charge on her phone bill for $20. She called to cancel and wanted the charge removed because she had not authorized anything. I call and speak to David Poppier... who says there isn't anything he can do but give me a free subscription to the website, which I don't want. I keep telling him that I didn't authorize anything and have never heard of the website until I received the email. I kept going round an round with him that all I wanted was the charge removed and be done.
Finally I had him give me all the info that I could about the address and his name and the name of the company and said I would be reporting him to the Better Bussiness Bureau and contacting a lawyer... he told me to hold on and said it looks like you account has been cancelled and should be refunded. I asked who would I need to call to follow up with that, he said I was talking to him. I asked if it would be taken off of the phone bill and how long would it take to show up. He said 1-2 billing cycles???
